Write First Draft

When I write the first draft, I only focus on expanding the actions and adding in what the characters are thinking as the story evolves, but I don't go into too much detail, and I don't edit. In other words, I tell instead of showing. The idea is to get the story out as quickly as possible. If certain details do happen to pop into my head while I'm writing, I'll add them, but I don't go searching for them.

I also tend to write the outline in the present tense, so this is where I change the story to the past tense.
