About these Collections

Court records and briefs are the documents that are created in the course of a case, including complaints, motion papers, and court orders, and they provide the facts of a case, the arguments advanced by both sides, and the positions taken by those filing amicus briefs.

Cases are identified by their docket number which is, at the least, typically composed of digits representing the year the case was filed followed by a sequential reference number. In some courts it may also have county designators, and case type designators, etc.

The items in these collections provide a link to the Internet Archive where the digital records may be viewed.
