Bummer Year has some of the most vivid imagery I've listened to in a song. "They're the kind of people who are with you in a bar fight even if you caused it for talking too much shit" is the pure poetry of loyalty, and just one of many lines that made me play this track over and over until I had to buy the album. The music itself feels like a sunny day even if its been a "Bummer Year"

Jake Ames' guitar work with Half Dream led me to Good Looks, and this album's sound delivered what I was hoping to find: great songwriting with plenty of space for interesting licks. I hear Robert Earl Keen in Tyler Jordan's voice more than I hear Paul Westerberg, but that is fine! memorable lyric: "What the fuck is a job creator, they're just stealing our labor." I didn't come for the class politics, but I'm staying for it!
