    Interface

    Logotype & Icon

    • The logo for the Cargo LMS project represents a plane silhouette, reflecting the core domain of the platform. This symbol communicates the product’s function in a direct and recognizable way. We used flat design principles for clarity across different screen sizes.

The icon maintains visual consistency with the UI by using the same color palette and line thickness.

    Typography & Colors

    Defining typeface & palette

    • We chose the Urbanist font for its readability and modern structure. Its clean look supports user navigation and aligns with aviation-related digital systems. The font reflects our goal of creating a functional, conversion-driven interface for Cargo LMS ux / ui.

Bright colors were selected to improve visibility across dashboards, especially under different lighting conditions. They help guide attention to alerts, tracking indicators, and live data inputs. This foundation ensures an interface that is both functional and visually approachable without overloading cognitive effort.

    Problem & Solution

    Problems of cargo loading optimization

    • Manual planning introduces frequent errors that result in delays and increased operational costs. Inconsistent parcel dimensions and weights complicate load balancing and space utilization.

External factors like air traffic or weather often require last-minute adjustments, further disrupting load strategies. These challenges lead to inefficient workflows and reduced customer satisfaction.

    • 01 - Human error

30% of human error is about of all incidents causing delays or damage in air cargo shipments. Manual planning processes are prone to mistakes during weight distribution and package handling. These errors affect overall timing, routing, and safety of air cargo. They also lead to increased CSR requests and insurance claims, lowering client trust.

    • 02 - Route adjustments

20% of air cargo flights experience last-minute route adjustments due to air traffic control restrictions or weather events. Cargo routes require constant re-planning, often under time pressure. Lack of real-time analytics limits responsive decision-making during such changes. Unoptimized route recalculations can delay shipments and raise fuel costs.

    Solution

    • We created Cargo – Plane Load Management System to reduce the risk of delays caused by human error or poor planning. By automating load distribution and route adjustments, we increase process reliability. Cargo LMS also ensures visibility and data accuracy, reducing manual oversight.

    Interface

    Smart Weight Distribution for Cargo

    • Cargo software employs intelligent algorithms to distribute parcels strategically, considering the weight distribution across the cargo hold. This ensures the aircraft maintains optimal balance for safe and fuel-efficient flights.

    Key Features

      • Smart Compartment Categorization

Implementing size-based compartmentalization, the system categorizes parcels into specific sections within the cargo hold. This improves the space-to-weight ratio, minimizing empty sections.

      • Route Optimization Engine

The system considers multiple factors, including fuel efficiency and delivery timelines, to suggest the most cost-effective and timely routes for cargo transportation. This directly reduces unnecessary detours and enhances shipment reliability.

      Research

      Research phase

      • During the research phase, we analyzed shipment flows, cargo types, and parcel weights to understand common patterns in air freight operations. This helped us identify the most frequent destinations and the typical characteristics of parcels being shipped. We also studied how cargo fragility and weight ranges influence packing efficiency and loading decisions.

These insights guided our design choices for filters, layouts, and optimization logic in the Cargo LMS interface.

      Key Findings

        • 38,5% of parcels

going to USA. This concentration highlighted the need to optimize routing and tracking features for North American destinations.

        • 57,2% of cargo

are non-fragile parcels. This influenced decisions on container types and load grouping in Cargo LMS ux / ui.

        • 41% of parcels

have weight about 1-5 kg. This weight cluster shaped UI filters and suggested templates for recurring parcel dimensions.
