Chicken

 Chickens are one of my favorite things to photograph...

Big Red

 Even though he is red, I can just hear Foghorn Leghorn saying,   'I Say,..I say now....'

The companion of yesterday's post....

She was one of the companions of the rooster I showed yesterday.  I love photographing chickens...so much variety.

Just have to show you these...

We drove through the strip pit area and Roger's cousin lives near where we were at...

So we stopped by...

His wife let out their chickens.  She and I sat in a swing and talked and laughed...just watching them.

I so wish I had thought and recorded the sound.  Just such a homey sound...even when he crowed it was not at all annoying.

Thought I would throw in two or three shots taken at the fair years ago...I first was going to title this post Profiles, but then the following isn't quite a profile.

A favorite subject...

We were on one of the backroads to Mansfield with Lorelei today....I got to try to nab a few pics the chickens again.  The rooster in front is a bit on the shy side.  I don't know how many times I have tried to photograph him and he won't stay in one place for long.  I think he is actually afraid. 

The hens are not quite as bad...

but they were busy and hard to capture them at the best second...

I love photographing chickens, specially roosters.

The icing on the cake was when we were getting to Mansfield, Lorelei told me that that was her new favoritest road!

I don't know what kinds of chickens these hens are, but aren't they just absolutely gorgeous!

Ready to run....

Every time I see this chicken, it looks  ready to fun for its life!  It was at the same house as the ones below but for some reason was not hanging with flock.

I would love to know why it was all by itself...

whatever the reason, it was fun to see them.
