Work

This was taken in Parke Country...in 2009.  It is a zoomed in shot...was across quite a distance if I remember correctly.

These are from a wet, wet day back in 2009.

I wonder how you feel about the above shot.  I think it one that is definitely better if you view the expanded view.  Both are from the same day in July....so the horses were probably enjoying the cool rain.

And I love the photo above...it was taken on our way home, through the window of course.

For the Barn Collective

I almost forgot it is time for the Barn Collective...thankfully I had only to look back to November 1 to find some barns...
they are all from Parke County.  I wish there was a way to get a better view of this one, but I will take what I can get.
I have featured this barn before, but this is a new picture.
Just a bit of added beauty with these two.

A few horses

It's horses...first one looks
Then others ignore me
Finally one looks around
 Others were concentrating on eating..
And others were just plain tired..
You could see it in their posture.

A beautiful girl...

She was in the parking lot at Shipshewana and people were paying to see her and pet her.  Her name was on something there but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was.  I know I thought it an odd name for a horse.  Isn't she beautiful?  She did not seem bothered at all by all the people.  I would have like to go pet her, etc. but would have had to wait and I just cannot stand to stand around on pavement or cement.

Don't tread on me

Every time I see these horses, and I see their feet, I cannot help but think how painful it would be stepped on by one, let alone kicked.

Are you coming for me?

We passes this barn on our drive Sunday....the horse kept watching me expectantly. Seems like everywhere I see a horse, it is apparent that it is well loved.

Notice the windows with curtains and the air conditioner? I wonder if someone rooms there or is it just an office? Or maybe its something entirely different.

Not good technically

This shot is not good technically, but there is something about it that I love.

A friend in the making....and a beautiful barn

The other day I stopped to take a picture of a barn, not the one above, but I saw this horse watching me. he was up at the corner of the fence closest to me, but was still a distance away. I didn't think any more about him. We went past his pasture, and there was the barn above.

Roger stopped to let me take photos of it...I always take two or three views so it takes me a couple minutes. I started to get back in the Rav and he said 'your friend is looking for you.' I asked what he meant...he told me to look.
This horse had come all the way down to the other corner of his pasture....I headed to see him and he was nickering to me all the way. You could definitely tell he is somebody's baby. I told Roger it looks like I am going to have to start carrying corn with me for horses...though I am not sure how an owner would feel about a stranger giving their horse something to eat. I did pet him just a bit, but was afraid I would get into the electric fence so only just a bit.
