I had never heard of round barns till maybe 20-25 years ago.  Since then we have come across maybe 8 or 10.

I think I like this one better in B&W....

Round barn, log cabin, and more...

This round barn is what originally what drew me to this place.  I don't remember where I heard about it.  It is not in my book A Round Indiana, Round Barns of Indiana by John T. Hanou.

This log cabin is at the Skinner Farm Museum, too.  It was moved there; I don't remember where it was in its former life.  And notice in the background is a brick home.  It is two stories, and is a fairly big home...and it was moved there from a few miles away!  I do not recall if the round barn was already there or if the guy moved it there, too.  I think most buildings there are buildings he moved there.

I don't know why I am showing this one...I don't remember a thing about it.  I like that it is old...I like that it is logs with the ends notched.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these.

From along the road

I would love to be able to find this barn again, but have no idea where it is at, other than I think it is south and west of here, I think in Illinois. It was taken probably 2 or 3 years ago at least...I wish I had taken some close-up views of it. I really like the top and I like the American flag above the door.

I am linking this to Tricia's Barn Charm when it opens...please join with a barn of your own if you have one.

ETA: Pay attention to Don's comment...he found this barn and it is in Indiana, not Illinois...I really thought it was in Illinois, but apparently I was wrong. We have been in the area where this one is one time, maybe two.

For your viewing pleasure....Barn Charm

I have shown these before, but it has been a couple years...so thought I would repeat them for Barn Charm.
I thought you might enjoy a closer inspection of it...
these are not cropped versions of the original but actual photos in their own right.
This one is another that is not too far from me...I think it was only the second round barn I had ever seen.
It is not to far from Lodi, Indiana...I think in Parke County.

If you want to see more barns, or if you have any to share, please go to Tricia's Bluff Area Daily blog to join the meme. It opens between 6:00 and 7:00 CST.

For Barn Charm....

Going through the archives the other night, I ran across these of one of the round barns near here.
At one time this barn was needing a new roof, and I was beginning to wonder if it was going to be let go till it fell to the ground. I was so happy to go back by and discover the new roof...now if I just had the courage to ask to see the inside!

This is my entry for Tricia's Barn Charm....I hope you will join us there.
