ATM/ANS provision at the gateway to Europe!

Despre noi

Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration – ROMATSA is a provider of ANS, which performs specific functions related to ATM to all GAT-IFR flights. It was established in December 1990 through a Decision of the Romanian Government, laying therefore under the authority of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. ROMATSA is certified in accordance with the Single European Sky Regulations by the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority to provide air traffic services (ATS), communication, navigation or surveillance services (CNS), aeronautical information services (AIS), meteorological services (MET), so as to provide local ASM (tactical/ASM Level 3) and local ATFM functions. According to SES Regulations, ROMATSA is designated by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure to provide air traffic services (ATS) for general air traffic (GAT) and for meteorological services (MET) in FIR Bucuresti. The current designation was made as a result of the establishment, in December 2014, of two cross-border sectors within the DANUBE FAB airspace, which demonstrates FAB’s continued commitment to the Single European Sky, and in particular the optimum use of airspace within FABs regardless of national boundaries of Romania and the Republic of Bulgaria.

Kicking-off the RP5 Workshop this morning with a focus on the capacity key performance area (KPA)!✈️   The discussion highlighted how capacity should be captured in the RP5 framework, ensuring that capacity targets are ambitious, achievable, in line with the SES 2+ framework and in support of a more efficient and resilient European air traffic management network.   From the Performance Review Board perspective, Joe Sultana underlined the importance of an efficient, sustainable and results-focused performance plans. He stressed that measures must be designed to deliver measurable capacity improvements, as a necessity to deal with the challenges we will face in the near future.   Many thanks to Adrian Florea, Nils Häusler, Andrew Osborne, Stephanie Vincent, Joe Sultana for their valuable contributions this morning.   Over the course of this 2-days workshop, the discussion will continue across the other KPAs, providing an important opportunity to exchange views on the broader implementation of RP5.   Stay tuned for more take aways and next steps towards RP5.🚀 #PRB #RP5 #EUTransport

  • On 24 June 1926, the first commercial and postal air service on the Bucharest – Galați – Iași – Chișinău route was inaugurated, marking the beginning of modern civil aviation in the region. One hundred years later, ROMATSA Director General Adrian Cojoc joined Romania’s official delegation at the commemorative events held at Chișinău International Airport and in Iași to celebrate this historic milestone. Beyond its historical significance, the centenary also highlighted the long-standing cooperation between ROMATSA and MOLDATSA. Through close collaboration over the years, the two organisations have contributed to enhancing the safety, efficiency and connectivity of regional air navigation services. As we commemorate this centenary, we also look ahead, continuing to strengthen cooperation in support of a safer and more integrated European aviation network. #CivilAviationCentenary #ROMATSA #MOLDATSA #AirNavigationServices #AviationHistory #EuropeanAviation #Romania #RepublicOfMoldova
