Twisted Clay on Instagram: "Its been a year since we posted any @schulzceramics content. You can tell he has been working on developing his technique over that time. For those of you who don’t know, Ryan is my son who has opted to follow in my pottery footsteps. I love having his help around the studio and watching his skills grow in this craft. I feel like soon he will surpass me in skill. I think that is what most parents want though. When he surpasses me in skill at the wheel, it will fill my heart with joy. Right now I think we are neck and neck in the studio, which means in no time at all he will be teaching me ways to be a better potter. One way he has already passed me up is in his water usage. You will notice he is not using a splash pan. This is due to technique he picked up from

Issey 崔 Roquet on Instagram: "Very tricky trimming but oh so satisfying once sculpted. I get a lot more casualties when working with this shape than a typical mug/bowl shape. There’s a lot of steps that can go wrong where the piece can lose balance. You might wonder why I choose to throw this in one piece and then carve my way through, instead of piecing three pieces together. Maybe I’m sadistic (lol) but mainly I think that attaching separate pieces runs the risk of breaking in the firing. And achieving a spherical shape in the middle that’s nicely centred is also preferably done by trimming. All in all, excited to play with making more of these 😊 I do enjoy a good challenge. Check out the two previous videos to see how I throw & carve the inside of the foot ✌🏼 #satisfying #pottery
