Charlie McCready on Instagram: "An alienated child has been coached to see one parent (the favoured/alienating one) as good and the other (the target parent) as bad. Often, the child cannot bear to hear the words ‘parental alienation’ and will reject it angrily and defensively. I know this from experience. From their perspective, the ‘bad’ parent is suggesting they’re not bad, and it is the other parent’s fault, but then we’re just saying bad things about their aligned parent, so in their eyes, it proves we’re bad. I’m using language like bad/good deliberately because they become so polarised like this. The alienated child has put up walls. They’ve been in the trenches. It feels real. They bear the war wounds. They feel insulted at any inference that their reality needs reviewing and unp
