One of my favourite ways to enjoy dumplings is by either steaming or boiling these and finishing it off with what I like to call the best or the ultimate sauce - with the perfect balance of savoury, heat, bit of sweetness and acidity. Let’s not forget the aromatics that really take it up a notch!

Ingredients

Produce
• 1 tsp Garlic
• 1 Scallions and coriander, fresh
Condiments
• 1/2 tbsp Chili oil or chili garlic sauce
• 2 tbsp Soy sauce
Pasta & Grains
• 12 pieces Dumplings/wontons, homemade or store-bought
• 2 tbsp Water or broth from dumplings
Baking & Spices
• 1/2 tsp Sesame seeds
• 2 tsp Sugar
Oils & Vinegars
• 2 tbsp Chinese black vinegar
• 2 tsp Sesame oil
Other
• 1 tbsp Doubanjiang ((see notes))
