About Dr. Vinay Kumar Srivastava

Dr. Vinay Kumar Srivastava is currently working as Centre Head, Centre for Border Management and Intelligence Studies in the School of Internal Security & Police Administration (SISPA). He is D.Phil. in Chemistry from University of Allahabad. He is having more than three decades of active service under Ministry of Home Affairs in the fields of Intelligence, Security and training with specialization in VIP Security, Industrial Security, Explosives & Post Blast Investigation and Training.

He has been trained on various aspects of security from NSG, CFSL, BPR&D, NPA, DRDO and abroad (Japan, Sri Lanka). He has vast experience of imparting training to state Police, Paramilitary Forces and have been regular guest faculty in Police Academies, CPMF Training Centres, Coast Guard and Foreign Police Forces.

He is widely travelled man for various field activities including Post Blast Investigation, VIP Security, Security audit of Vital Installations and Training. He has conducted post blast investigation for more than 100 in India and few in abroad also. He has good knowledge of Technology/technical gadgets used in the security. He is recipient of Indian Police Medal and Home Minister Medal for best indoor Trainer.

His active lifestyle is his passion for teaching and research work in order to transmit his vast experience among new generation.

  • 4. Explosive IEDs and Post Blast Investigation
  • Developed the technique of “Residual Explosive Analysis”.
  • Conducted several Post Blast Investigations including major serial blasts in Hyderabad, Bangalore, UP, LWE areas, J&K, and North East that have been useful in developing the signature of various terrorist modules through investigation.
  • Was nominated in a three-member Indians investigating team for post blast investigation (PBI) on the explosion occurred in speed boat of Maldives President at Male (September 2015).

  • Led various training activities including content development/designing & conducting courses! delivering lectures Intelligence/Security on and specialized subjects (CBRN. PBI, Industrial Security use of technology/security gadgets in security and management topics).
  • Visiting faculty in SPG, CPMF training centres, National Police Academy, State Police academy and regional training centres.
  • Visiting faculty in Industrial Security Sensitization programmes conducted for PSUs and scientific establishments (Atomic installations/DRDO labs/Oil sectors etc.)
  • Privileged member of trainers’ team for the training of Royal Army/Royal Police for SAARC summa-2010 in Thimpu (Bhutan).
  • Designed and developed Digital Courses on intelligence and security for online training programmes.

  • Led the Security Audit team arrangements in for the inspection of Industrial Security Vital Installations of strategic/economic significance (Atomic energy/Space Sector/Ordnance & DRDO labs/Refineries and Mass Transports).
  • Conducted critical review of existing security arrangement and offered necessary recommendation for further strengthening the security of vital installations.
