Kyra makes a no bake mandarin orange salad that is perfect for holidays like christmas and thanksgiving. | By Kyra Dawn | That was one can of mandarin oranges that I put into my cool whip. This is eight ounces of Cool Whip. I'm bringing in a large bowl here and we're just going to get all that yummy cool whip and those mandarin oranges right into the bowl and then I have another can of mandarin oranges drained. I drained the other can as well and I went ahead and reserved just five mandarin oranges for later and then I have 20 ounces of crushed pineapple. I did not drain that. And then, I have a small box of instant vanilla pudding and you don't need to make the pudding. This dessert is so easy. You just put it right on top dry and then, you can just fold everything together right in your large bowl. Oh, this is going to be so good, so perfect for any family occasion, family reunions, church, whatever you want to make this for the holidays everyone will absolutely love it and that that crushed pineapple is going to help that dry pudding mix not be grainy anymore and it's going to soften it up oh my gosh I love mandarin oranges you can add as little or as much mandarin oranges as you like I just went with two cans but I remember when they used to have mandarin oranges at Wendy's as a side when I was a kid. I absolutely loved those mandarin oranges that would come in a little container. Oh my gosh. I'm so excited to eat this. It's going to be so good. Alright and you can add other things to this too. You could add some maraschino cherries. You could add whatever fruit you like. You could add some marshmallows or shredded coconut. Okay, that looks good. What do you think David? Looks yummy. You think that looks good? Oh yeah. Alright. I think we're about ready. To pop this in the fridge. So, I'm just going to flatten it out a little bit so it looks pretty. Okay, now I'm going to take back those mandarin oranges that I reserved and I'm just going to place them in the center in a cute little pattern. Guess they should all be facing the same direction. I think so. Yeah, I think that looks good. We're kind of going to make a little star pattern or something. That? Yeah. There we go. That looks good, right? Perfect. Might be a little off center but who cares? We're going to chill this in the fridge for a couple hours. Oh my gosh, you guys. It has been about an hour and a half. I couldn't wait any longer. Let's see how this turned out. Oh yeah. Look at that. And the longer you let it set it will get even fluffier and even firmer. Oh it's going to be so good. Oh my gosh. That is so good.

AMISH BAKED CUSTARD
Among the many classic desserts out there, custards are one of the most pleasing. They’re easy to eat and have a richness that no pudding can touch thanks to a generous amount of eggs in the mix. Not surprisingly this type of dessert is often referred to as an egg custard, but it’s also called an Amish custard. The Amish are well known for their decadent desserts and made-from-scratch delicacies, as you’ll know if you’ve ever bought any Amish treats in your travels. But, this was once a popular dish all across the country- particularly in farming areas where fresh eggs were plentiful.
