Eilene Johnson on Instagram: "An oldie but goody! Gift idea #2. The Dollar Store and my scraps met up and had a little Christmas baby 🤣. I made this Holiday project book and I love how it turned out! Here’s what I did: - I picked up 3 things from The Dollar Store: a composition book, some hair elastics and some pens. Then, I pulled out all my Christmas scraps and cut a bunch of strips in varying lengths at about 1 1/2” wide. - grab some batting. I even pieced mine from warm and bright batting scraps I had with a zig zag. I cut my final batting piece 11” x 24”. - cut a piece of coordinating fabric about the same size for the lining. - start in the corner and start sewing fabric strips on the diagonal, quilting as you go. - trim your finished piece to 10 1/2” x 23” - on one side, cut a e
