It wasn't until I understood that Calves were different from other muscles when it came to training and building them that I started seeing results. 

1st off.. I was not born with big calves, for proof go to the top of my profile to see where I started.

Where genetics did play a part was the length of my calves but as you can see they were skinny. 

Building them from 13" to over 19" has taken years and the 5 secrets below are things I have followed for decades. 

1. Frequency and Consistency: Train your calves frequently, ideally 2-4 times per week, with consistent effort. Consistency is key to stimulating muscle growth.

Programs like this one that incorporate these basic exercises is where a lot of my lower body tone/definition results have come from. ⁣

For this quads and calves workout do each move x12 (12 each for single side moves) 3 rounds of each block before moving to the next. 

Remember your legs are likely a strong muscle, but you don’t have to lift what I do. Start where you are and progress from there. My kettlebell is 60lb, the black dumbbells are each 50lbs, and for single leg calf raises I used 35lbs.
