Making seaweed

I've been making seaweed with "Solvy" and thread. "Solvy" is the name of a brand of water-soluble material that can be stitched with free-motion machine embroidery. When it is placed in water the material dissolves and only the stitches are left. Wormy little bits that like to try and escape down the drain! The tidal coast is the best place on earth to find texture. Aggregate anemones, barnacles, seaweed, shells, sand and rocks form a dense carpet of living tapestry. I've used felting, embroidery, couching, machine and hand embroidery, beading and applique.
