cth1951 "Boots" is great. Even better Live.
The sentiment is a message that should be "heard" not just listened to.

and then there is Earthly Songs...
love that too... Favorite track: Boots On The Ground (In The Sky).

about

Made in Brooklyn in 2012

This album is dedicated to the quarter throwers and bill uncrumplers and the small army of umbrella salesmen who materialize from nothing around subway entrances at the first drop of rain in New York City. It is dedicated to the cash register guitar case and the subway platform stage with its generous, churchlike echoes. It raises a glass to the bar-adjacent backrooms, the closed circuit tvs, and the Holy Open Microphone - and generously tips the bartenders who don’t charge for soda water. And it applauds with full heart and standing the good people who come to such sacred flophouses and clap or boo but listen. Without them good weeds would not grow up through the hard streets of Brooklyn.

Specifically, this album is dedicated to Greg Morabito, Tony Galligani, Molly Brown, Damian Quinones, Gwen Magurshak, Dave “Mustang” Lang, Kristin Slaysman, Eric Holzman, Jillinda Palmer, Mike Wells, Jason and Natalie Sparks, my family, and anyone else who has helped or inspired Mikey and me to make music. Thank you.

about

Ryan Harrison Los Angeles, California

Ryan Harrison is a singer and songwriter who blends elements from 60’s Brit Rock acts like The Kinks and The Zombies with 70’s Americana and folk acts like Loudon Wainwright and Warren Zevon. At turns playful, sarcastic, and deeply felt, Harrison’s songs run the gamut of tones and subject matter—but beneath them all lies a deep appreciation for lyrics and melody and an unmistakable wry wit. ... more
