about

Elena Inei violin
Mike Parr-Burman guitar

'Annette Street' documents two performances by the duo of Elena Inei and Mike Parr-Burman - a collection of segments from a house gig on Annette Street ('House') and fragments recorded in their flat a few weeks later ('Home').
The pair share a physical and exploratory approach to their instruments, coaxing a textural interplay that morphs from the raw to the delicate and subtle.

Elena Inei is a violinist and improviser originally from Italy and currently based in Glasgow. Elena focuses on free improvisation and exploring the connection between sound and movement. She is a member of the Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra, The New String Collective, the band Mhenwhar Huws Newydd, and the music/dance Collective Endeavours. Her previous collaborations also include composing and playing for the Barrowland Ballet's intergenerational company Wolf Pack.

Mike is a guitarist and improviser. Based in Glasgow, he is one third of the avant(skronk)improv(doom) trio Taupe. He plays in the free quartet Dome Riders (with Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh, Armin Sturm and Fritz Welch) as well as The Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra. Other collaborations include his part of the recording cast for Adjunct Ensemble's 'Sovereign Bodies / Ritual Taxonomy' (Diatribe Records) and LEAPLEAPLEAPLEAP, his duo with an improvising computer.
