In a second hand Bob voice Some people like it But some don’t I can’t tell the difference Between this type of ilk Or that They made a bum out of Barnum Spinning in this bile Smashed up bollard While shaking hands with an empty glove It’s a meagre luxury we have Do we eat or heat?

about

A recording of hope-filled laments that touch on the ephemeral and timeless moments in memory and slow renewal.

1. LESSER SPOTTED ANTON
Cinematic opening with a soft atmos and hushed vocal, surveying options. Breakdown zooms in closer to the sounds within the habitat at hand. Next vocal entry is more excited as the pulse and intensity of the beats ramps up to a resounding pitch.
2. JUST A PHASE
Debris of sonic fragments wash up onto the shore. A melancholic mood sets in. Internal time takes hold and pushes into the night.
3. DAISY AND LUCY
A fuzzy trip into the archives - a vintage drum machine is triggering loopy guitar tones. Meantime a delicious voice memo drops midway into the breakdown. The truncated rhythm slides off into the ether
4. RUINED BY THIS HERE
Pulsating terminal of automation and splutter creates a dream space. A projected image of an unsolved case of a missing girl.
5. AIMLESS
Side 2 opens with a warm and lusty dub offering. A perplexed state of mind slowly feeling its way through an exotic bubbling audio menagerie.
6. ATONEMENT
Deep in the noise pocket the ramparts are down; guitar swarms and a strangled bugle signal eminent invasion.
7. HERB EDGES
This is the enigmatic closing piece. A slow motion shuffle evokes scenes of an after-party by a derelict street march. The address is fixed, at a warehouse crooks are cooking the books.

about

Scattered Order Sydney, Australia

They don't make noise like that anymore.

With their assembled collection of eccentric sound tools, Scattered Order have fermented another set of dangerous sonic gases: sometimes absurdly pleasant, sometimes scarily abrasive, always multi-layered and certainly hurtling towards a blissful destination. ... more
