CAS Watercolour June Reminder

The month is flying by,  but you still have until the 24th to play
along with Bonnie's "Ocean" CAS Watercolour Challenge!

Here are my Diving Dolphins diving thru the waves card!

Close up showing the Magicals Glimmer on the waves and Kuretake Gansai Tambi
Watercolors Glimmer on the Dolphins. So much prettier IRL!

While on our Retreat we tried using different mixed media products on white coated
tags that Loll found.  They were #8 size.
I used green and blue Magicals using the Splash Technique.  Check out Loll's video:
Splash Watercolour Background Technique:2:25.

I had reconstituted Magicals powder with water.
I loved the results.  When I got home I kept looking at the tag and noticing
the splash background looked like waves.

So I trimmed off the tag end and then die cut with Ali-Express stitched rectangle die.
I used 2 Memory Box die cut "Diving Dolphins" that I watercolored with
Kuretake Gansai Tambi Shimmery Silver paint.
I loved the shimmer from the Magicals and Silver paint.

Next popped up the dolphins with SU mini dimensions.  Placed image layer in MISTI
and stamped my Penny Black "Happy Snippets" sentiments in SU Pacific Point ink.

Popped up image layer using fun foam onto my SU Whisper White Thick card base.
And..Done!

Be sure and check out all the amazing cards by our very talented DT and awesome Guest
Designer,  Robyn (Waterlily Cards).

CAS Watercolour Reminder

Hosted by Loll

Here is my Rainbow card filled with Hugs!

I had so much fun watercoloring my Distress Ink Rainbow colors.
Added ink to small rectangular acrylic block and spritzed with water using TH Spritzer,
then stamped onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper.

I used these Distress Inks: Candied Apple, Spice Marmalade, Wild Honey,
Lucky Clover, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet.

I repeated my acrylic block stamping twice more for a real vibrant effect.
Drying between layers.
Next I die cut my piece with my MB Stitched Rectangle Die.

To add more dimension and pull the colors together,  I drew the circles
with my Staedler Pen using my Kaisercraft "Bubbly Stencil"!

Then added my CUTplorations "Hugs" word die that I cut
from a scrap in my Distress Ink Smooshing Stash,
popping it up on a black die cut Hugs for more dimension and a shadow effect.

I then attached my main image with fun foam to my SU Whisper White card base.
And Done!  Loved the vibrant rainbow colors.

You have until the 24th to play along at CAS Watercolour. Be sure and check out
the gorgeous samples by our DT and awesome GD Hannelie (desert diva).

Happy Rainbow creating my friends.  Hugs..

CAS Mix Up April Reminder

Time for our CAS Mix Up Reminder Card Samples from our DT and very talented
Guest Designer, Hideko (Papercraft Boutique)

Here is my Rubber Band Technique + Stamping + Die Cuts Card.

I found an unused card front layer that I had watercolored with Distress Inks
onto Strathmore Mixed Media Paper in my stash.

I had used the inking direct to acetate block technique.  I used TH Distress Inks: Barn Door, Peacock Feathers and Broken China and then spritzed with water
and stamped onto my mixed media paper.
Then used my aqua painter to help spread the ink around.

Next I masked my piece and added narrow rubber bands to my brayer,
then rolled my brayer over my Versamark pad and heat embossed
with Wow Bright White EB Powder.

Next I die cut the piece using my PB "Antique Frame" die.
Then die cut 2 MB "Sketch Daisy Dies" using SU Black CS and attached together
with SU Fine Tip Glue Pen for a thicker flower.

Attached flower over heat embossed Rubber Band background with Tombow
liquid glue.  It is a stronger glue and worked great.

To my surprise,  I stamped my SSS "Bouquet of Thanks" sentiment
with Archival Jet Black ink several times using MISTI
and it worked over the heat embossed background:-)

Popped up my main image with Fun Foam to SU Thick Whisper White card base and Done!

I really liked the results and was happy to use a background from my stash:-)
I am really liking the Rubber Band Techniques for a different and easy CAS background design.
Thanks so much Julia for choosing this technique. You have until the 24th to play along!
Hugs..

CAS Mix Up Acetate Dragonflies!

So pleased to play in our CAS Mix Up Acetate, Stamping and Your Choice Challenge!
Thanks again Susan for such a fun challenge!

I chose Alcohol Ink on Acetate + Stamping + Inlaid Die Cuts and Die Cuts!

We are still Celebrating CAS Mix Up's 2nd Birthday this month!
You have until the 24th to play along and possibly when a prize:-)

Here are my 2 cards using the negative and positives of 2 die cut Dragonfly corner images!

Here is my Friends Forever card!

My Lots of Love card!

I used the same supplies and techniques for both my cards.

I chose 2 pieces of Alcohol Ink on Acetate with Tissue backing from my background stash.
One was a pretty green and the other a pretty blue background.

It can be a challenge when die cutting designs that have narrow pieces.
I used a scrap piece of Arches 140# Cold Press as an extra shim when die cutting my MB "Dragonfly Stems Left Corner" Die.

The extra thickness worked really well.
Of course that was after  tossing my 1st try using my normal die sandwich.

I am sending you to my alcohol ink on acetate French Marigold Tissue Technique Card for the full description of my background.  Such a cool technique and you can never make just 1 background!

I dry embossed  a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Gemand Woodland 110# cardstock.
Then die cut 1 dragonfly corner from the blue background saving all the tiny pieces.
Next die cut a 2nd corner from the green background, saving the pieces.

Then I die cut each woodland grain card front with the dragonfly corner die.
Next I attached the dry embossed backgrounds to my SU Thick Whisper White Card Bases

I used SU Fine Tip Glue Pen to add dots of glue inside the apertures.
I placed the positive dragonfly images in 1st weighting down with my largest acrylic block.

When dry added the negative pieces.
Used the same technique on 2nd card.  It was a bit tedious,  but fun.  I used a toothpick to help move the glue around and had a baby wipe handy to wipe up extra glue.

I finished my cards by adding CUTplorations Dragonfly Die that I shaped with stylus
and popped up with dimensionals.

Stamped my PB Happy Snippets sentiments using MISTI and Archival black ink and Done!

I was pleased with the results and happy to have 2 cards for my stash:-)

You have until the 24th to play along with us at March CAS Mix Up.
Be sure and check out the inspiring DT and our GD cards.  Hugs...

CAS Mix Up Die Cut Acetate Reminder

More beautiful and creative CAS Mix Up Acetate cards by our talented DT and Guest Designer,

Here is my card using Stamping + Acetate Alcohol Ink Tissue Background + Die Cuts

Close Up showing all the pretty shine from die cut flowers and copper foil frames.

I chose a background from my Alcohol Inked Acetate with tissue paper from my stash!
I used Pinata alcohol inks: Senorita Magenta and Gold Metallic and T.H. Watermelon alcohol inks.

I am sharing my Marigold Alcohol Ink on Acetate Tissue Paper Card from a previous post.
It has all the same steps that were on the background that I used for my die cut flowers.

I loved the shine from the alcohol inks and especially the gold metallic alcohol ink.
The SU Copper foil paper matched the gold closer than the SU Gold foil,
so the Copper was my choice for framing my MB die cut flowers and PB sentiment.

I attached my main image to SU Thick Whisper White card front using fun foam
and popped up sentiment using 3M foam tape.

My card will be for a dear 88 year old forever girl friend,  who is now living in assisted living.
Daisy has the sweetest smile and the most wonderful caring nature.
She is a retired Xray Tech,  whose hobby has always been gardening.
I know Daisy will like her card because she is always so easy to please:-)

You still have until the 24th to joining us at CAS Mix Up.  We  would love to see your Acetate cards!

CAS Watercolour Happy Birthday Reminder!

Time for CAS Watercolour Birthday Reminder cards by the talented DT
and our amazing Guest Designer, Birgit (Rapport fran ett skrivbord)

I am so pleased to have another Birthday card in my stash:-)

Here is a close up of the Magicals Mica Powder Shine!

I have been playing with a tripod this week given to me by Denny from his photography "Stash"!

It is a good backpack tripod with lots of loving nicks and scratches and memories:-)
Thanks again Denny and especially for the tips!

I am especially pleased with the clear and non-blurry close up.

I am also playing with my new Lindy's Stamp Gang Prairie Wildflower Magicals Set, which was a SSS gift from Loll.  Thanks again dear friend.

Here is another recent birthday card I made using the product.

I added Bells of Ireland Green powder to my paint palette well and reconstituted with water.  Then added Bachelor Button Blue to another well and reconstituted.

Now I was ready to do a wet on wet watercolor wash technique using a flat wet brush
onto Strathmore Mixed Media watercolor paper.

I painted the green and then the blue Magicals letting them blend by tipping my paper.
I loved the result.  It is interesting how all the shine does not show up until the paint is dry.
Very Magical!

Next I die cut the frame using MB Stitched Rectangle die.
Then die cut the happy with CUTplorations Happy Word Die 3 times.
Once from the watercolor background and twice with SU Thick Whisper White CS.
I attached all 3 layers using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen, which made the hidden word pop up.

Then used my MISTI to stamp birthday.
Added sequins for a bit more bling and fun foam to pop up the image
onto the SU Thick Whisper White card base.

I loved the color combination, shine and watercolor wash.  Hope you like it too.
You have until the 24th to join us at CAS Watercolour.
Be sure and check out the DT, GD and Gallery cards.  So much Gorgeous Inspiration. Hugs...

CAS Mix Up Layering Stencils Reminder

Time already for our CAS Mix Up Layering Stencils Reminder Cards.  So much creative layering by our DT and GD, Sue (Sue's Card Craft).

Julia (Create With Me) is hosting this month and chose a wonderful theme.

Here is my Reminder Card!

I am using Stamping, Layering Stencils with Distress Oxide Inks and Die Cuts.

I used scraps from the same background as on my CAS Mix Up launch card sponging with Distress Oxide Inks: Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper using blending tools.  I love how smoothly and effortlessly DOX inks blend when sponging.  I kept adding colors until I was happy with the chalky Fall Colors.

Next I used 3 different stencils for my layering background.  I used TCW Raven Mosaic and Textures stencils and also Tim Holtz  THS007 stencil.  The 1st two stencils have several different stencil designs.  I used a total of 11 stencil designs from those 2 stencils plus the 1 THS007 stencil. I can see 6 designs on my background piece. I added Inka Gold..gold paint with my finger to the stenciled bird for a nice shine and stamped SU French Script using Candied Apple DOX for more depth. Then gave my bird an eye..using Staedler pen.

I Die Cut my background using Memory Box Stitched Circle Die, then die cut a white circle frame with SU Thick Whisper White.

Next I die cut CUTplorations Birthday Word using my background piece and again using SU Basic Black CS.  Attached off set using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen.  Placed my card base in my MISTI and stamped "Happy" from STAMPlorations "Happy Birthday" set.

I attached my main image trimming the edge for better placement balance.  Then attached die cut Birthday using Fine Tip Glue Pen and weighted down with large acrylic block.  Done and happy with results.

Looking forward to seeing more of you join in our CAS Mix Up October Challenge.  Be sure and check out the DT and GD cards along with several videos.  I used my favorite Tim Holtz Layering Stencils Part One YouTube video (13:01).  Enjoy and Happy Layering!  Hugs..

CAS Watercolour Silhouette Challenge

Time for our CAS Watercolour September "Silhouette" Challenge.  So many Gorgeous cards by our Design Team and our Amazing Guest Designer, Birgit (Rapport fran ett skrivbord)!

I chose my Memory Box "Dragonfly Stems Left Corner Die" for my Silhouette Image.

After borrowing Loll's (Stamping with Loll) Die at our Retreat in May,  Loll surprised me recently with my very own Dragonfly Die!  Thank you so much sweet girl friend:-)  Even though I recently made THIS card with Loll's borrowed die,  I just had to use it for my CAS Watercolour September "Silhouette" Challenge launch card.

I started with a Stitched die cut piece of retired SU designer series paper.  It has a watercolor wash look,  but I sponged more Distess Oxide ink onto the paper.  I swiped Peacock Feathers and Broken China onto my craft mat and spritzed with water.  I sponged onto the paper with my blending tool.  It gave more of a watercolour wash look,  but not as much as I had hoped,  but was fun to try.  I love playing with my DOX Inks.

Next I placed my dragonflies die on the sponged paper and die cut.  Attached a 2nd layer of die cut stitched designer paper and attached the 2 layers, so the white cardstock under the layer would not show.  Then I die cut the dragonflies using Thick Whisper White CS, which I inlaid using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen.  Next I glued on the black die.  That popped up my dragonflies and also gave them a slight white shadow for more dimension.

Next I added a stamped sentiment and sequins to my main image and Wink of Stella to my die.

To finish my card I popped up the main image using fun foam onto my Thick Whisper White card base.

I hope you get to join our fun CAS Watercolour Challenge.  You have until the 24th to play along.  Be sure and check out all the fabulous DT and GD, Birgit's cards for inspiring CAS Card designs.

STAMPlorations Bloomtangled Blog Hop with Love

On August 5th I entered STAMPlorations National Coloring Book Day Challenge.

Here is my page I colored using the digi sample Shery shared.
I printed on heavy copy paper and colored with Zig Markers.

Lucky me..I won the new "Bloomtangled" coloring book by random pick and we all received a surprise gift...your choice of a 3" x 5" stamp set:-)  Our sweet Shery is always sooo generous!

Today is the start of the Bloomtangled  Blog Hop with beautiful creative projects by the Design Team on each day of the Hop.  Ends on Sept. 5th !

Here is my card using my page sample above!

I used my CUTplorations ATC Builder Die to cut down my Bloomtangled sample.  Next I attached to another die cut piece of white cardstock to give the copy paper sample thickness.  Then used my CUTplorations Trendy Spring Blooms Dies to die cut 3 flowers with SU Whisper White cardstock and attached to the 3 Zig markers colored flowers to add dimension and interest.

I decided to go with a subtle "With Love" sentiment,  since the main image was busy with colored flower and leaves.  I used Archival Black ink for sentiment.

Added a Memory Box Stitched Rectangle and CUTplorations Crazy Running Stitch Rectangle from my stash to frame my popped up main image.  I popped up my  main image and MB stitched layer with fun foam,

I loved how my colored Bloomtangled image turned out and can't wait to play with my "real" coloring book with different coloring medium.  I will be taking on our next camping trip too:-)

Thanks again Shery for another fun Blog Hop and to you and all your DT for the fabulous samples.

CAS-Usual Fridays CFC181-Kraft and White

I am playing in the CFC181 Color Challenge-Kraft and White!
I love this color combo and was thinking Christmas,  but needed more thinking of you cards for my stash..

Here is my sepia colored rose "So Sorry" Card

I stamped my STAMPlorations "Framed Solitary Rose" onto mixed media paper using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then watercolored with paint brush and Distress Inks. Next I die cut my main image and die cut 2 more framing layers.

All the SU Kraft cardstock layers were sponged with SU Crumb Cake to give the paper a suede look.

The kraft die cut layer was inlaid into the die cut white frame and the main image was popped up using foam tape.  I masked off the "for your loss" from my PB sentiment that was from the "Heartfelt Thanks" stamp set, which I LOVE!  I added Wink of Stella to the rose.  Wish you could see.

Enjoy and Happy Stamping my friends.  Hugs...

CAS Watercolour August Salt Techniques

Another creative CAS Watercolour Challenge: Salt Techniques!

This was my 1st Salt Background Technique that I tried and I Loved the Results!

My 1st step was to look at a youtube video that was provided by our host Bonnie (Stamping with Klass).  I watched Using Salt by Tom Fleming (5:00).

Then I used Strathmore Cold Press 140# paper and generously wet with a flat paint brush.  Next I used my Gamsai Tambi solid Watercolour Paints for my Watercolour Wash.  I dabbed just a little with a paper towel.  Still pretty wet,  but without puddles.

The fun part next...sprinkled with sea salt and table salt.  Then the magic began as the salt bleached some of the watercolour wash.

I let dry and then die cut the outside of wash and added a few splatters with left over paint.  Die Cut the center of wash and then searched for the perfect die cut in my stash from my girlfriend Susan (Cardmaker's Garret). I used this beautiful Memory Box "Honey Blossom" Die that is now on my wishlist.

I attached with glue and added Wink of Stella Glitter.  So pretty IRL!   Stamped my sentiment and popped up my main image using fun foam.  I love the colors and textures created by the salt background.

Be sure and check out our CAS Watercolour Challenge for the samples and different techniques using salt from our very talented DT and our Amazing Guest Designer Ros (Mikey's Mom).   Hugs..
