The Kentucky Colonels were an American Bluegrass Band from Burbank, California, formed in 1954 by Roland White (Mandolin, Vocals), Clarence White (Guitar, Vocals), Eric White Jr. (Banjo, Double Bass, Vocals).  They were a Bluegrass Band that was popular during the American Folk Music Revival of the early 1960s, the group released two albums, The New Sound of Bluegrass America (1963) and Appalachian Swing (1964).   The ban featured the influential Bluegrass Guitarist Clarence White, who was largely responsible for making the Acoustic Guitar a lead instrument within Bluegrass, and who later went on to join the Los Angeles Rock Band The Byrds.  The band disbanded in the late 1965.

Muleskinner was an American perhaps the one and only Bluegrass Supergroup, formed by David Grisman (Mandolin Ex Earth Opera), Peter Rowan (Guitar Ex Earth Opera, Seatrain), Clarence White (Guitar Ex Kentucky Colonels, The Byrds), Richard Greene (Violin Ex Bluegrass Boys, Jim Kweskin and The Jug Band, Seatrain), and Bill Keith (Banjo Ex Jim Kweskin and The Jug Band).  The group formed as a favor to a California Public Television Station looking for someone to perform on a show with Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys.

Muleskinner Live is a live album by Muleskinner, originally released on February 24, 1998, remastered and reissued on August 23, 2021 by Liberation Hall, recorded live studio audience in Hollywood, CA, February 13, 1973, this groundbreaking performance was thought to be lost forever, there would only be a handful of concerts and one album before Clarence White died five months later.  Muleskinner never performed again.
