about
This song tells the story of a young man named Terence Wheelock.
On the 2 June 2005, Terence was wrongfully arrested and taken to Store Street Garda Station, where he suffered sever mistreatment which left him in a coma for three and a half months in the Mater Hospital on Dublin's Northside.
He passed away on 16 September 2005.
The song tells the story of the tragic event that day and the family's long struggle for truth and justice for Terence. The campaign was created 19 years ago by Terence's older brother Larry. This song was written to remember all that Larry gave while seeking justice for his younger brother until he passed away in 2019.
The campaign still goes on.

lyrics
Summerhill
Last evening by my window, I recalled a lad who was young and fair
For a kind hearted soul was he to whom all that loved and cared
For he made some plans to take care of in a project to fulfill
A young from the inner-city in a place called Summerhill
It being on the 2nd of June, the date of his family’s strife
When this young lad only 20 was left fighting for his life
He was wrongly detained and beaten and his body lay calm and still
In a cell, down at Store Street, not far from Summerhill
When the EMT’s arrived for him, they found him in the hall
Now questions have arose from this, as to why he was moved at all
They removed him from his cold grey cell and cleaned it out at will
To cover up what they had done to this lad from Summerhill
With no regard for his mother’s feelings, they stood at her front door
And when she got the news of this, she about hit the floor
For the shock was so traumatic that down her spine it would send a chill
And the pain within his mother’s screams echoed through Summerhill
With rage it fuelled a campaign on those who were unjust
On those who are meant to protect and serve but no one will ever trust
For they hide behind their cloak of law and protected they are still
From what they'd done to this young man from the streets of Summerhill
For years the streets have been lined with all who’ve come from far and wide
To aid this family’s quest for truth and to turn the tide
The judicial system was broken then and broken it is still
So until they find their answers, they’ll march through Summerhill
Well to this day no answers given, no justice even had
No peace for this family for the loss of this young lad
Yet I cannot help but pray for them as I lean on my windowsill
In the hopes to quieten his mother’s scream that still echoes through Summerhill
That still echoes through Summerhill
Still echoes through Summerhill
