about
‘Storm’ is the debut release of Melbourne based project SAATSUMA. This track is the first taste of their upcoming EP, which is set to be released mid 2016.
SAATSUMA was birthed via a studio collaboration between Memphis LK, Joel Ma and Cesar Rodrigues over 2015. The result was a merging of each of the individuals’ styles and influences to create a collection of ambient electronic songs. The project is being mixed by Declan Kelly (aka Dream Kit).
Their music is driven by elements of hip hop, house & neo-soul, drawing inspiration from artists like FKA twigs, James Blake, Little Dragon to J-Dilla and Flying Lotus.
lyrics
It’s later than you think it is
Room is growing dark
Thought we’d have more time than this
Before it fell apart
Shadows coming through the door
They’re everywhere
I can’t see you anymore
Your light is gone from here
The storm will break
You’ll fall away
But I can count on you
To come again
A thousand miles high again
And the clouds are rolling in
Spiralling towards me now and I
Wonder where you’ve been
All the light’s fading from your eyes
You’re not here
The storm will break
You’ll fall away
But I can count on you
To come again
