Philippines' BALBAL __ In Philippine mythology, a Bal-Bal is a monster that steals corpses whether it is in a funeral or grave and feeds on them.
Duwende – I just love creatures from the Philippines! These were my mushroom-based monsters at first, but then I learned about the real mushroom creatures from myth (Trenti) and then these weren’t needed anymore.
N is for Nuno sa Punso - The Nuno sa Punso differs from a dwende or dwarf of Philippine folklore. The dwende is a playful hobgoblin who shows himself to children, while the Nuno is a goblin easily angered and will do harm to those who damage or disturb its punso. If someone were to trample or kick the Nuno's home, the offender's foot would swell.
