After a great question on one of our recent reels, we’re taking a moment to shine a light on one of our most used, but perhaps lesser-known, tools of the trade! So, why curved? It allows for precise, controlled stitching in tight or awkward places, especially when working on fixed frames or around corners where a straight needle simply won’t reach. The curve allows for an ‘over and under’ or ‘slipping’ action, which you can see here! In addition to this, the curved design helps the needle push through tougher fabrics that are commonly used in upholstery. We love it when you’re curious and ask questions about the craft!
