Safari Bedroom & Bath
This was my youngest son's room. It has evolved as he grew up, but the theme started from his love of the zoo and elephants. At one time there was a mosquito net over the bed he loved as a sort of tent. There also use to b many stuffed animals. A few favorites remain. My powder room has similar decor with monkey emphasis.

This incredible wallpaper is what inspired the decor of my main floor bath. It was chosen primarily because of the black, greens, and burgundy colors that carry through the other main rooms. The monkey was a fun surprise and I've played it up in the accents in the bath. Even though it's a small room and the print repeat is large, it really helps expand the feel of space.
On top of the corner cabinet is a relief monkey vase with artificial fern. Note the painted black ceiling, suggested by the wallpaper installer. It's genius because with only 7 1/2 foot ceilings, white would cut it off. The black gives it an "infinity" feel. People always remark what a great idea this was, but it wasn't mine.
Top half of powder room bath corner cupboard. I usually display monkey, palm tree and other safari decorator items on the three shelves behind glass. during the holidays it holds special animal themed ornaments. Sometimes I rotate in family photos from trips to the zoo and zoo themed birthday parties. It is a very small room and this adds display space and storage - but I couldn't fit it in one photo!
