I got a bunch of amazing tomatoes from a friend’s garden and decided to save a few from the best of the bunch. I picked the biggest, most flavorful, and most colorful ones in the group for saving. (Shameless plug for my son over at @wildwoods_woodcraft for the gorgeous cutting board!)❤️ Scoop seeds from a ripe tomato into a glass jar. Label the jar. Allow to sit for 2-4 days until the mush gets a mold layer on top and is fermented. The fermenting process is what breaks down the protective slime layer around the seeds. Don’t let this process go too long or your seeds will start to sprout! After 2-4 days, when you see the mold layer, add a little water and stir vigorously. Then carefully drain the gunk off of the seeds. The mold and hollow seeds will float and be easily discarded while the good seeds sink. Repeat this process until your rinse water is clear. Once seeds are clean and drained, transfer to a hard surface like a plate and label each type. Allow to dry, stirring and breaking up clumps occasionally. Do NOT dry on a paper towel, as they tend to stick and not want to come off. Once thoroughly dry, transfer to a paper envelope and label for next year’s garden! This is a great way to have fresh seeds for next year and a great way to trade favorite varieties with neighbors. Local seeds are always the best seeds, because they’re fine tuned to YOUR area. #Gardening #seedsaving #tomatoseeds #savingseeds #homesteading #selfsufficientliving #gardenlife #planningfornextyear #heirloomtomatoes #growlocal #heirloomseeds #saveyourseeds #gardenhack #saveyourseedsandswapthem #seedswap #preservingseeds | The Ladies of Wildwoods Farmstead / MO Pastured Pork | wildwoodsfarmstead · Original audio
4.8K views · 777 reactions | I didn’t use this DIY Natural Pest Spray last year, and I wish I had! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve seen a HUGE difference in the pest control and health of my plants this year!🙌🏼 Here is the recipe I use: 1 gallon water 3 teaspoons natural dish soap (I use Thieves) 2 Tablespoons Neem Oil You can also add, (which I did,) the following essential oils: 15 drops of Cedarwood 15 drops of Lemongrass 15 drops of Rosemary 15 drops of Peppermint SHAKE EXTREMELY WELL BEFORE EACH USE! The first time I made it in an old gallon milk jug and just poured some in a hand spray bottle to use. It worked perfectly, but my hand got tired quickly because my garden is pretty large. So now I use this $10 gallon pump sprayer from @loweshomeimprovement, and it took me no time to spray my whole garden!🪴👊🏼 I spray my plants as needed. Usually once a week, and definitely after it rains. Hope this helps to keep your plants happy and healthy!❤️ . #NaturalPestSpray #DIYNontoxicPestRepellent #GardenTips #NaturalPestRepellent #Dreamgarden #Goals #HealthyGarden #naturalgardens #NaturalPestControl | Traci Hutcherson | belinalilly · Original audio

This encourages them to sprout new roots along their length, helping the plant absorb more nutrients and water. It's a classic technique among giant pumpkin growers. We used this approach to honor our first hen, Gucci, who passed away last year. It's just one of the many tricks we're trying to achieve our giant pumpkin goals. | Epic Gardening | Epic Gardening · Original audio
