Growing Garlic: Till the garden in the late fall, right before the ground gets cold for winter. Fig each hole 4-5" deep. Put a bit of green sand, kelp meal, and bone meal in each hole. Add the upright garlic cloves. Cover with dirt and at least 6" of mulch. Garlic is a one-day investment -- today! It doesn't have to be weeded or anything until it's dug up next year in the late summer.
