Below is a short story in the form of flash fiction, serving as a companion piece to the album. The story is written as a love letter, only from the point of view of a god.

Herein lies a tale of devotion to one's chosen deity, no matter the cost. Some gods reward their followers, others feed on them, & others still ignore them completely.

In this story one shall witness the devotion of a deity who is equally enraptured with it's devotees as they are with their gods.

Dreams do require dreamers, after all...

Mortal being, I am in awe of you. 

You know not the path, but it beckons you. You know not the way, but it pulls you in. World weary traveler, lay beside me & I shall steer you from your nightmares & land you within your most succulent dreamscapes.

Would you go hungry for me, oh world traveler? You traverse not only dreams, but distant lands beyond the physical realms. From Devoria to the Sebra, you have crossed worlds, but still you cross over into my domain of your own volition. Rest now transient being, for I see you in your waking dreams & in your yearning slumbers.

You sought out the Halmari changelings, & though their sight is nearly extinguished, they certainly know their way around the forge. You bade them to cast an icon in my image, a token of my essence, cast in sweet silversteel...

It is through this act that you summoned me, dear dreamer. Is through this act that I recognized you even in this darkened underworld, this cavernous expanse you now call home. The Sebra does not deserve you.

Oh dreamer, you asked me, & I followed you into the dark, where dreams are corporeal, & imagination forges the steel of dream-matter.

You gathered people in this "new" world to worship the dreamstate, to revel in their slumbers & invite dreams as frequently as is possible without my intervention.

"Reko's Dream" you called it. A cult in my honor. Now they dose & doze themselves to sleep in hopes of interfacing with me, & I await them eagerly thanks to your efforts oh Dreamer. It has been some time since a mortal has brought me such elation in any capacity.

You worshiped me then in your homeland, & you worship me now here in this unfamiliar world, far removed from where you began. What is it in me that you've so latched onto transient being? What is it you seek beyond my company? I shall adorn you with it.

I see you in colours yet unseen by mortals. Let me gift you with these forbidden colours as a symbol of your devotion. Let us bask in these shades together between dreams.

I have not seen such devotion even among the Dreamwielders of Devoria, who murder & manipulate in my name. These most devoted, yet misguided souls pale in comparison to the wellspring of adoration which you represent.

I would trade eternity for more time with you, & so my dearest mortal, eternity must come to you. I gift you with something unknown by man.
Through your devotion, you will see days yet unseen. For eons I shall keep you alive & dreaming in slumber eternal, under my protection always.

I, Reko, shall watch over you until you dream the dream which whisks you away into the nameless void, where I shall thread you back into existence, & every dreamer shall hear your name echo into eternity. You will be that effervescent glint of dream-matter which all will recognize but few will comprehend.

Oh, dreamer... the next time you rest your eyes, you shall enter into my domain for the last time. Your transience shall drift into permanence. No longer shall you be my transient being, but one who has tasted eternity & lived to tell the tale.

It is to you, my dreamer, that I dedicate these "Songs Of Yore."
