The first of four settings of While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night sung in Foolow, this is a favourite. Also known as ‘Bradda tune’ after the village of Bradwell a few miles away, its sung in most villages in the Hope Valley. It’s stately, rising fugue in the second half of the verse give it a wistful, hopeful feeling.
