Chemically active RKL2020 powder has a highly developed surface and is chemically active (i.e. it can enter into a vulcanization reaction, like rubber in rubber). The powder is added to the bitumen using the technology developed by UAB «Selfus». Since the powder is made of non-oil-resistant rubber, it swells during the cooking process. The powder particles dissolve in bitumen and undergo a vulcanization reaction. A new material BRKL2020 is formed (due to the formation of chemical bonds of rubber molecules, sulfur and unsaturated bitumen molecules).

Its structure is a non-dense spatial grid filled with bitumen. Its melting point at 7% rubber powder content is +120 ° C. In addition, the adhesive properties of bitumen do not deteriorate. If necessary, you can increase the proportion of powder, which will further increase the melting point. The freezing point of this material is -35 ° C. The experimental data described above indicate significant improvements in the properties of asphalt concrete, which significantly extends the service life of the road surface and, as a result, significantly reduces the high cost of its operation.
