Idle Hands

These idle hands are looking for the devil’s playground
This idle mind is tired of sleeping
While wandering eyes are out looking for trouble
Lifetimes slip by before you even know

This heavy heart needs to lose some baggage
But it keeps holding on when it ought to let go
Dressed up in art to disguise the sadness
Those idle minds can’t tell the difference

This silent cry rises over the rooftops
But it falls back down on deafened ears
My blind faith crashes headlong into reason
All those good reasons the i let you go.

Nothing about love is sane
It cries in the moonlight, It calls out your name
It stands out in the pouring rain
Or it waits at the window the music crescendos, all alone
All that love in vain.

While these idle hands go looking for the devil’s playground
This restless heart needs somewhere to go
While wandering eyes are out looking for trouble
Lifetimes slip by before you even know.
