SkaldMaps

SkaldMaps is a geography research tool for anyone making a serious location decision - a move, a client recommendation, or a market screen.

Build your own scoring criteria, weight them by what matters, and run them against real public data for the geographies your plan covers. ZIP codes are the default presentation layer, with county and tract analysis available from the geography selector where the underlying data supports it. The results are yours to interpret.

What you can do

  • Browse ZIP, county, or tract level data on an interactive map, state by state.
  • Switch to county or tract analysis when you need a broader or finer geography.
  • Layer data overlays, filters, and rating results on the map, with controls for visibility, labels, opacity, and map style.
  • Build a rating engine using the criteria you choose - housing costs, weather, schools, broadband, commute patterns, market activity, and more.
  • Run your engine and see each selected geography ranked by your criteria.
  • Compare specific areas side by side across all available data fields.
  • Save and reuse rating engines across sessions.

Who uses it

  • Households relocating - compare ZIPs by the criteria your family actually cares about, not a generic ranking.
  • Realtors and advisors - build per-client engines for structured, repeatable shortlist work.
  • Investors and analysts - screen states or the entire country by market signals, affordability, and infrastructure context.

SkaldMaps does not tell you where to go. It gives you the data and the tools; the judgment is yours.
