I often have occasion to write on the go, and I love the sense of flow that I get when just free-writing. I don’t even look at the screen! But sometimes I know I’ve mistyped something and want to go back and do it over. How do you do that without breaking your flow?

I get to work via public transit, which gives me some time to myself to think, read, and write. To make the most of it, I try to have full-featured tools at hand. For writing, a proper keyboard is crucial: It gets out of my way and lets me write down what’s on my mind with a mininumum of fuss. To avoid toting around the bulk (and the distraction) of a full laptop, I use a Bluetooth keyboard with my (Android) phone.
