Romeo for Valentines

Just popping a card in for the inspiration at SheepSki Designs in the Facebook group.  The challenge starts today.

I thought I'd show how Romeo doesn't just have to be used for Christmas cards :D

I've coloured him with Copics and scattered some embossing enamel as I would for a winter / Christmas card.  However, I've used mostly reds which are perfect with the snow heart he's drawing.

There's some design paper for matting behind the image from Joy Crafts, then I've used some off cuts of paper to make a banner for interest and a heart left over from a die cut banner.  The sentiment is made up from Tim Holtz stickers.

Little Robot Family

Sharing something a little fun with you today.  I decided the other month Bob might need a girlfriend.  So I've done him a little family, girl robot and dog robot.  Actually along the way I've rounded him out a little, see if you can spot the differences.

I coloured the image using Copics keeping a metal these of different greys for silvers and yellows for gold.  After colouring the image I then decided to fussy cut them (took me ages!).

I found lots of lovely grey papers in my stash and has already got the yellow spotted one die cut from another project.

I've added a few yellow enamel dots to the background for interest and a wood chip XOXO sentiment coloured with Copics to match them card theme.

Ooops Moment....

Today I'm sharing one of those ooops moments....

Struggling with my Copic pens earlier in the week (ran out of inks in my greens) I ordered some more, so this was my second attempt.

I received them yesterday so got to work immediately colouring the image last night. Whilst colouring I managed to pick up totally the wrong colour for the background.  Note to self "put pens away instead of having hugely messy desk!!"

As I'd coloured everything but the roses I thought maybe I'll just do peachy white ones.  Thank goodness it came out ok!  I actually quite like it BUT I will colour it up again in the intended colour soon ;)

I didn't want to do anything too fancy so I just dug out a shaped card cut it slightly short and distressed the edges with a Tonic Solutions tool.  The splatter around the image you can see is some embossing enamel :)

Perfume Gift Bag

Today is our new release inspiration day at All Dressed Up.

I've had a play with Wendy's new Love Potion image.  I just thought it was a perfect image to make a small perfume gift bag.

Here's a bit of a close up of the centre on the bag.  The image was coloured with Copics.  Cut out and distressed with vintage photo ink and a Tonic Solutions tool.  I've also added some embossing enamel for extra detail.  The centre of the image has been covered with DecoArt glitter.

I've added some red roses that I'd got from The Ribbon Girl ages ago.  Underneath this you can see a wooden LOVE sentiment.  This was a left over from my wedding that I'd been hanging into which I finally found a use for!  The flowers have also been wound up the handle of the bag and a section of cream lace tied around the handle.

I've used some Paris scrapbook papers from UHK Gallery, all distressed with a Tonic Solutions tool.

The other thing I haven't mentioned are the tiny pearl strips around the edge of the bag :)

We're in February already!!  Where does the time go.  This month at Outlawz Sketch we're sponsored by Paper Nest Dolls.  All our DT have use this little cutie called Amara in Heart which you can find here.  The cards are really awesome to check out all so different with the same image :)

I've coloured her with Copics, then fussy cut her out.

Here's our sketch for the next two weeks

I've flipped the sketch for this one and moved my heart slightly to the left so I could fit the sentiment in.

My design papers are from Lili of the Valley, a bit of scrap paper from First Edition and some red and black card., l=I've used two different kinds of hear buttons and the sentiment is a Scrapiniec one coloured with Copic.

Just knowing when to stop.....

.... can be half the battle!  Have you seen this incredible beauty from All Dressed Up.  Perfect for Valentines!  You can find Cupid here.  

I've coloured the image with Copics adding a gentle green glow around the image.  I was going to do something a little fancy with her but after trying to get all the red ink off my fingers I discovered I'd splashed a bit extra around the image.  So I dotted a little more red on and then scattered some white embossing enamel as well.

Here's where I thought stop!  I cut the image short of the card then distressed it with a Tonic Solutions tool.  The sentiment is made up from Tim Holtz stickers.

A CAS valentines card was the result which my hubby loves, may have to put this away for him ;)

Love you to the stars and back

Our new challenge starts in the All Dressed Facebook Group today, our theme for the month is Love Is... so we'd love to see all your creations that make you think of love!

Today I've using Stars and Back, I've been dying to use this image for ages :) She's been coloured with Copics

Doing a bit of recycling this week I've created a tag using some old cardboard packaging from Christmas and a die to cut out the tag shape.

Behind the image is the last of my green glitter paper, note to self go to Hobby Craft again LOL!!  Any excuse :)

I've added a tiny silver star charm and the ribbons are a mixture, on of which you'll be surprise to know what they are!  You know those annoying ribbons they have on clothes to help hand them up but they always pop out of your clothes ;)

My little love bug!

It's coming up to that crazy love season :)

So here I am showing off some little love bugs.  You can find this image here in my Etsy shop, it's just called Love Bugs.  You can get 10% off this and all my images on Etsy by quoting SKIANDREA10 at checkout.

I've coloured the image with Copics, for a change not using anything as a reference but just going with how I felt leaves and twigs might look.

I've created a very simple card framing the image with black card.

Added to this are some heart buttons I've had in my stash for so long I can't remember where I got them from.  The sentiment it from some scrapbook paper I've also had in my stash forever!  I've just added a scrap of red card behind it to match the theme of the card.

Valentine Wild Flower

Our Facebook Challenge at SheepSki Designs starts today and closes on 19 February.  Our theme optional twist this time it "I LOVE...." this could be colours, embellishments, valentines, hearts etc.

I've made an alternative kind of Valentines card with no hearts or read :)

When I originally did this image he was holding a heart balloon.  My hubby actually gave me inspiration on this one, he said "where would he have got the ballon?"  So I changed it to him holding a wild flower he might have just picked from a garden.

The image has been coloured with Copics and a black polychromos pencil, my warm greys have run out of ink so I needed to top his beard and tash up :)

I did my usual, looked for the design paper after.  Amazingly this was in the first paper pack I picked up on the first page!  It's from First Edition.  I've also used some black card and an XOXO sentiment.

Newly released in my shop this is Puuurfect Love :D

I've coloured the image with Copics and then framed it with some black card.  I found the perfect matching design paper from Hobbycraft so used this with some more black and white card to layer it up and keep with the colour scheme in the image.  The tiny white heart is a left over from some die cutting I was doing the other day :)

The sentiment was printed at the same time as the image.  I love you... and I love meuw! come with the image.

My only other addition are the rhine stones either side of the image.

Up up and away

We've finally managed to crawl out way through January LOL!!

So as it's the 1st of the month it means it's All Dressed Up Facebook challenge inspiration day :)

Our theme for this month is ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE.  You can interpret this any way you like, Valentines, Weddings, Anniversaries, Friends....

I've chones to make a Valentines card but not a traditional red one.  My theme is grey and orange using Be My Valentine which you can find in Wendy's shop here.  I've used Copics to colour the card with.  The clouds were created using a stencil from one of Alyce's Kit & Clowder classes and I've used some of the techniques from this class as well.

I've framed the image with some black card and used some design paper from Hobbycraft.

The final addition was to add some orange enamel dots that I've had in my stash for ages.

Fuzzy Love

Today I'm joining the DT ladies at SheepSki Design with their Facebook inspiration.  The optional theme is THAT LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE, the challenge is open until 19 February.

The background behind is a section of textured card which has been distressed with some Walnut Stain ink from Tim Holtz, I've also scattered a little embossing enamel.

The design paper is from First Edition and I've finished the card off with a single red heart and a wooden LOVE sentiment which I got in the wedding section from Hobby Craft.

2 Crafty Critter Crazies - Challenge 22

One of THOSE cards.....

I've tried to create something different today and am out of my comfort zone, but you have to test yourself or else how do you grow!  White space uggghhh!!  It scares me LOL!!

Anyhow....  This is a new image in my shop just called plain and simply I Love You.  Just because that's what's written in the balloon strings.

It was one of THOSE cards.   This was not my first attempt, I had several terrible colourings and one failed card before I eventually got it something like passable!  The image has been coloured with Copics.  Because I needed to cover up some of that white space I sprinkled some embossing enamel, actually lots of embossing enamel.  Underneath the image I've added a section of burgundy ribbon.

I wanted to try to do a card with a panel down one side, I've used some black card and design paper from First Edition I think it was (it's a bit that was left over in my scraps box).  After putting the card together I noticed I'd smudged some red ink (my fingers were covered in it after all the colouring attempts).  To cover the inky stain up I added some red and white twine tied in a bow.  I then had this HUGE white space down the left side. So I had to add some red and black gems to cover it up a bit.  CAS card ROLF who am I trying to kid!!!  Over to the experts....

A little old age tenderness

It's that time of year again where I create something special for my hubby.  This year I've gone with another of his favourites - skeletons!!

There are two different versions of the image.  The one with just the skeletons I've sketched a heart.  All of the image was coloured with Copics.  I've added a little black polychromos pencil to add a little extra depth to the shading.

Finished off with layers of red and black card, I've added a Forever sentiment from Scrapiniec coloured with black Copic.

Valentine's Kiss

I've been meaning to use this image from All Dressed Up for absolutely ages.  The theme for February's Facebook Challenge is Love / Romance / Red / Hearts which was a perfect excuse to use A Kiss for Valentine's

I've used Copics to colour the image and then added some gold gel pen for sparkles in the centre of the flowers.  I've also done a little extra shading for depth with a black polychromos pencil.

The design paper which is cut diagonally is from Maja Design.  I've also used some burgundy and Kraft card.

The Love sentiment is a wooden embellishment which I found in the wedding section at Hobby Craft.  The XOX are some brass letters which I also found in Hobby Craft not long ago.  The final thing I added were a couple of red heart stickers from Paperchase.

Love, hearts & a bear

I seem to be very short of time at the moment, however, having said that I've found time to colour and make a card with a recent image :)  

This is Bear Love you can find him in my Etsy shop and get 10% discount off my images by quoting SKIANDREA10 at checkout.  I drew the image using my favourite hears and bears!

I've used Copics and a black polychromos pencil to colour him.

I've pretty much left him to focus of the card.  I've used some black card for framing, an off cut of Christmas paper (the stripy one) and some other Christmas paper hee hee, I know its Valentines but it just seemed to go.

Hmmmm blogger seems to be acting up today, don't know if anyone else is having problems.  It won't let me upload images from my Google album archive, so I've had to find a way round it to share this with you tonight.

This is my latest new release image.  I shared a sneak peek of it a few days ago.  I've not had time to colour it up :)

Creating a single layer card to showcase the image I've scattered some embossing enamel around the image.  I've added a simple wood chip sentiment from Scrapiniec to complete the card.
