Reliable Forecast We need a reliable… Shippin’ Forecast! Largely unmapped oceans Rudimentary navigational skills Diseases, storms and pirates A long journey fraught with hazards But you may still board Coz we shall set sail With no guarantee Ever to make it through the voyage… We need a reliable….Shippin’ Forecast The shippin’ forecast is sorry to tell Of an uneasy time and that not is all well Trouble ahead, food shortage Opportunistic rats on the rampage Movements of the sea / The climate’s unhealthy Sooner rather than later We predict total damnage They won’t even find the wreckage We need a reliable….Shippin’ Forecast

Gale Warning Gale warning Forecast of a Strong Wind… Gale warning Brace yourself! Brace Yourself Winds of about Force 8 (34 to 40 Knots)

The Boat’s Pissed Into the furious lashing of the tides Lighter than a cork I danced on the waves Ten nights ! Without missing the Stupid Eye Of the Light House And from then on I bathed in the poem of the sea The Bubble Fish of the Blue Wave The Fish of Gold, the Singing Fish Then the skies burst with lightning A foam of flowers rocked my drifting The surf, the current, the waterspouts And I was winged by the violent winds Avalanches of water in the midst of a calm A drunken boat thrown by the storm Into the Eternal Spinner of the Blue Immobility… And I swam, and I swam Under the ultra-marine skies And I swam, and I swam Under the terrible Eye of the Prison Ship

So Much So Many A ship this size requires billions of souls to sail her That something so big is able to float Is a feat of engineering akin to Devilry So many PEOPLE On board the Ship So many CULTURES On board the Ship So many STORIES On board the Ship So many IDEAS On board the Ship So Many! So many SMELLS, so many BODIES, so many NEEDS So many LIES, so many CRIMES and other bad DEALS So much GREED On board the Ship So much MISERY On board the Ship EXPLOITATION On board the Ship MANIPULATION On board the Ship So Much! So much FRAGILITY, so much NAIVITY, so much DECEIT So much TECHNOLOGY, so much BARBARY and STUPIDITY How can we be so easily controlled By only just about one percent of all the people on the boat The Sea State’s Slight But Organization on the Boat Ain’t Right They take advantage of diversity Prevent unity no risk of mutiny They take advantage of diversity Enforce tyranny on the majority

Who’s The Captain? Eversince the Big Disruption Eversince the Big Disruption We‘re fast sailing, fast sailing, fast sailing To unchartered territories (and violent seas) Are we headed towards Are we headed towards Are we headed towards An authoritative sea governance? Speculate, Speculate, Speculate… SpeculHATE, SpecuHate, SpeculHATE Nobody knows who the captain’s anymore Nobody knows who the captain’s anymore Nobody knows who the captain’s anymore Nobody knows who the captain is anymore!!

Throw It To The Fish The forecast is favourable But life on board is unbearable Robotic sailors performing their tasks Without a smile, wearing a mask Last orders! The well’s dried out No more white wine, once in never out I’m telling you this coz you’re my friend But noone on board could ever understand But ever moving is the ship….. Rigid are the rules but ever moving is the ship Static are ideas but ever moving is the ship Depressed are the sailors but ever moving is the ship Sea Dogs! Sea Bitches! What shall we do with greedy captains? What shall we do with greedy captains? Off with their head! Off with their head! What shall we do with greedy captains? Throw it to the fish! Throw it to the fish!

The Pirate Spaceship It’s hard to know when the Sea stops And the Sky starts The Sky is an Ocean (An it’s)full of Fish too Of course we can’t see them But that’s because we don’t try enough We just don’t explore its depth We only observe the surface… I coulda been anything that I wanted to be But instead I boarded a boat and went off to sea Now what I’d really like to be Is the one-eyed Captain of the Pirate Spaceship…

about

Shippin4Cast Chambéry, France

Shippin4cast is a Punk Rock band formed just a couple of years ago. They have only performed a dozen of farewell concerts so far preferring to concentrate on creating their own unique repertoire and universe.
Their narrative unfolds in a near future where continents have vanished, submerged by the sea, and all that remains of humanity is concentrated on one single vessel, the SHIP.
