Al Attles
Alvin Austin Attles Jr. (November 7, 1936 – August 20, 2024) was an American professional basketball player, coach and executive. He spent his entire professional career with the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was nicknamed the "Destroyer".[1][2] He played for the Warriors from 1960 to 1971 and coached them from 1970 to 1983, notably during their victory in the 1975 NBA Finals. Attles was born in Newark, New Jersey.
In April 2019, Attles was chosen as a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.[3]
Attles died on August 20, 2024 under hospice care in Oakland, California at the age of 87.[4][5]
