Coelophysis was a small fast running dinosaur from 215 million years ago. One of its ancestors was a huge dinosaur named Dilophosaurus. The Coelophysis was a meat-eater. It stood 22 inches high and weighed 40 pounds. These animals hunted in packs.
The remains of a baby Coelophysis have been found in the stomach of an adult Coelophysis skeleton. That meant that the Coelophysis could eat its own baby dinosaur.
