Sigrid Jin 🌈
About
I'm interested in everything that makes things actually work, software and the startup scene most of all. I write about what I learn on Medium. Having previously studied international relations and mathematics, I also like raising the ethical questions technology deserves. That habit once landed me in The New York Times.
At heart I am a sales engineer. Nothing beats selling a product I genuinely believe in, and the products worth believing in are always built on serious technology, which is why I keep coming back to engineering. To me, a great product and a great organization are two outputs of the same craft, so much of my energy goes into untangling organizational problems with technical tools. And since the best journeys tend to begin with choices nobody planned, I try to be the person who makes them.
Sigrid Jin is how I go by, and my legal name is Jin Hyung Park. Sigrid is an Old Norse name still used in Norwegian, meaning beautiful victory. I live between Seoul 🇰🇷 and Vancouver 🇨🇦, and speak Korean, English, and Chinese (Mandarin).
