The American Jewish Archives Journal (AJAJ) has provided its readers for over sixty years with informative articles, interesting documentary analyses, and helpful review essays. The Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives (AJA) is now pleased to present the entire run (114 issues and counting) of its award-winning publication in a freely accessible searchable database. The AJA is grateful to Temple Emanu-El of New York City and the Dolores and Walter Neustadt Fund for making the publication of our journal possible.

While the external features of the AJAJ may have changed since its founding in 1948, the fundamentals that have secured its longevity remain: to present the rich details of the American Jewish past in a way that is accurate and accessible, as well as innovative and informative. May the legacy and vision of the journal’s first editor, Dr. Jacob Rader Marcus, continue to be reflected in its pages for many years to come!
