This was the first song I ever heard by Elliott Smith, who eventually became not only one of my all-time favorite artists, but also one of my greatest musical role models. Even during that first listen I knew I was listening to something different; something unique and special that wasn't really happening in popular music, especially during that time.

This is one of his most beloved songs and I wanted to do it justice. I wanted to make it sound as beautiful as I could, and I hope it's something that he would have liked.
