After first releasing the feel good anthem ‘Good 4 U’ on Soulvent in 2024, the Hillsdom boys have been steadily churning out a string of successful releases. Now, the Essex boys are back with the final instalment of their ‘Restless ’ EP - this time working with neighbouring artist Charlotte X for what is their debut collaboration on Soulvent Records.
‘Love Me Better’ gets going with trickling synth harmonics, giving way to Charlotte’s buttery-smooth adlibs and inviting vocal writing, perfectly complimenting Hillsdom’s uplifting liquid production. This track is at home in headphones and nightclubs alike and will surely have you developing feelings.
‘Say No More’ kicks off with a bubbling, tumbling synth pattern which is quickly backed by driving percussion and sensual female vocals, building the tension as the soundscape grows. The drop brings in a veritable arsenal of bassweight, with wobbles, big sweeping sub hits and drum hits galore, keeping the energy undeniably high throughout the duration of the tune.
The airy intro on EP title track ‘Restless’ slowly brings in the hi-hats with increasing speed but whilst the arrival of the drop may catch you by surprise, the content within is absolutely as you’d expect. A huge bassline, guttural bass stabs and snappy drums come together and result in a dark liquid roller that makes it impossible to sit still.
Final track ‘Jynx’ is a further exploration of their energetic sound, packed full of articulate arpeggios, boundless bass and chopped-and-screwed female vocal samples. Add some masterful drum work, sprinkled with splashy amen breaks and some super wobbly subs and you’ve got yourself a certified Summer dancefloor damager.
Landing in all good stores on the 14th of November, don’t sleep on the brand new Hillsdom EP!
