Sound In Silence is happy to announce the return of JARR, presenting their new album Evangeline.

JARR is the ongoing collaboration between Jon Attwood (Yellow6) and Ray Robinson (Wodwo), and Evangeline is their new full-length album and their fourth for Sound In Silence. Made up of ten compositions, carefully mastered by George Mastrokostas (Absent Without Leave), Evangeline is built around slow and contemplative reverbed guitar loops, walls of ambient textures, delayed guitar melodies, minimal post-rock ambience and washes of distorted shoegazing drones.

Below is what JARR had to share about the backstory of making this album:

“Collaboration is a strange, fragile thing. Two minds pushing and pulling, sometimes in step, sometimes not. One of us leans into structure, into the certainty of BPM, the steady grid that locks everything into place. The other prefers the slipstream, the moments between the beats, where things breathe, stretch, threaten to come undone. Over time, this push-pull has become its own rhythm, a quiet tension humming beneath every track we make. Not a battle, not quite. More like a dance, where the steps aren’t always agreed upon but somehow still work.

With ‘album six’, we found ourselves thinking about rhythm differently, not just in terms of music, but in the wider sense. Patterns, cycles, the way things repeat. Six is a number with symmetry, a natural order to it. In poetry, there's the hexameter, six beats to a line, a structure that carries an inevitable, rolling momentum. And then there’s Evangeline, Longfellow’s great poem, a story of love and exile, movement and stillness. A name that lingers. A name that carries a weight of longing.

That idea, of searching, of trying to hold onto something even as it slips away, felt close to what we’d been doing all along. Our different ways of working, the places where they meet and where they don’t, have always been the heart of the JARR project. But somewhere along the way, the lines have blurred. The grid and the drift, the structure and the space, finding ways to coexist.

Each track here beats its own rhythm. Some pull tight, locked in, others let go, unanchored. But all of them, in some way, are about movement. About that place between push and pull, between knowing and not knowing. Between where we started and where we’ve ended up.
