Distribute and run LLMs with a single file
llamafile lets you distribute and run LLMs with a single file. (announcement blog post). Our goal is to make open LLMs much more accessible to both developers and end users. We're doing that by combining llama.cpp with Cosmopolitan Libc into one framework that collapses all the complexity of LLMs down to a single-file executable (called a "llamafile") that runs locally on most computers, with no installation. The easiest way to try it for yourself is to download our example llamafile for the LLaVA model (license: LLaMA 2, OpenAI). LLaVA is a new LLM that can do more than just chat; you can also upload images and ask it questions about them. With llamafile, this all happens locally; no data ever leaves your computer. -

The PoDoFo library is a free, portable C++ library. It can parse and modify existing PDF files and create new ones from scratch. It also includes several tools to work with PDF files. It features an unique approach which provides access to PDF documents via an object tree. Therefore, PDFs can be created and or manipulated using a simple tree structure. genext2fs is a mean to generate an ext2 filesystem as a normal (non-root) user. It doesn't require you to mount the image file to copy files on it. It doesn't even require you to be the superuser to make device nodes.

The Deduplicating Warp-speed Advanced Read-only File System. A fast high compression read-only file system for Linux and Windows. DwarFS is a read-only file system with a focus on achieving very high compression ratios in particular for very redundant data. This probably doesn't sound very exciting, because if it's redundant, it should compress well. However, I found that other read-only, compressed file systems don't do a very good job at making use of this redundancy. See here for a comparison with other compressed file systems. DwarFS also doesn't compromise on speed and for my use cases, I've found it to be on par with or perform better than SquashFS. For my primary use case, DwarFS compression is an order of magnitude better than SquashFS compression, it's 6 times faster to build the file system, it's typically faster to access files on DwarFS and it uses less CPU resources. -

Keycastr
KeyCastr, an open-source keystroke visualizer
KeyCastr requires access to the macOS Accessibility API in order to receive your key events and broadcast the keystrokes you are interested in. On newer versions of macOS (10.15+) there is a new Input Monitoring menu under Security & Privacy within the System Preferences app, and KeyCastr will appear there automatically the first time you run it. Simply unlock this menu and check the box next to KeyCastr to enable it. On older versions of macOS, or if for some reason the app doesn't appear under the Input Monitoring menu (or if you want to pre-enable it) then you may manually add it to the list of apps in the Accessibility menu. If KeyCastr is already in the list, then click the, button and add KeyCastr again to be certain that the right application is chosen. Make sure to check the "Display all keystrokes" checkbox if you would like to display more than just the modifier keys. -

These ligatures were custom-created using Glyphs. There are even italic versions of the ligatures. All new redesigned ligatures with better hinting. Updated font generation to support advanced OpenType features like those found in Fira Code. For example, the cursor now moves inside the ligature. It also handles repeating characters properly. -

Quickly create and run optimized Windows, macOS, and Linux virtual machines. Quickemu is a wrapper for the excellent QEMU that automatically "does the right thing" when creating virtual machines. No requirement for exhaustive configuration options. You decide what operating system you want to run and Quickemu takes care of the rest. The original objective of the project was to enable quick testing of Linux distributions where the virtual machines and their configuration can be stored anywhere (such as external USB storage or your home directory) and no elevated permissions are required to run the virtual machines. -

This is a fork of the now-defunct Android backup tool SMS Backup. It uses Gmail/IMAP to perform SMS, MMS and call log backups over the network. It is important that you perform the first backup manually. SMS Backup+ needs to know whether you want to upload messages currently stored on your device or not. SMS Backup+ can also backup and restore your call logs. It stores all calls using a separate label (defaults to Call log, but can be changed in "Advanced settings"). If you wish you can set this to the same value as SMS, to make all backups use the same label. -
