Nipe
An engine to make Tor network your default gateway
Nipe is a Perl-based engine whose primary aim is to make the Tor network act as the default gateway for outgoing traffic. In practice, it configures system firewall rules (iptables) and network routing so that almost all IPv4 traffic is redirected through Tor. The tool provides commands such as install, start, stop, restart, and status to manage its behavior. When “start” is issued, it sets up the necessary rules; when “stop” is used, it attempts to remove those rules. Nipe currently operates over IPv4 and does not yet support IPv6, meaning that users with IPv6 connectivity may bypass Tor routing. It includes a Dockerfile to facilitate containerized usage, requiring sufficient network capabilities (e.g. NET_ADMIN) inside the container. Behind the scenes, the code is modular: for instance, parts of the logic around installation and utility functions are separated into Perl modules (e.g. in lib/Nipe/Utils/Install.pm). -

lm-sensors is the canonical Linux project for reading motherboard and peripheral hardware sensors—temperatures, fan speeds, voltages—and exposing them to userspace. It ships a probing utility (sensors-detect) that identifies I²C/SMBus chips and kernel drivers, then a runtime tool (sensors) that prints human-readable readings for quick diagnostics. The companion library, libsensors, gives applications a stable API to query sensor values, enabling desktop applets, monitoring daemons, and alerting systems to build on a common foundation. Configuration files map raw chip registers to friendly labels and scaling factors, so outputs reflect real hardware characteristics across many vendors. With this foundation, higher-level tools (like fancontrol or graphical monitors) can automate cooling policies and warn about thermal or power issues before they become failures. -

FlowViewer provides a convenient web-based user interface to Mark Fullmer’s flow-tools suite and CMU's netflow data capture/analyzer, SiLK. The inclusion of the underlying SiLK tool set enables FlowViewer users to continue to use the tool with the newer IPFIX netflow data protocol, which includes support for IPv6 and Cisco's v9 and FNF netflow. FlowViewer has been developed for NASA’s Earth Sciences Data and Information System (ESDIS) networks, and credit goes to NASA for their usual outstanding support of innovation. The FlowViewer tools provide additional graphing and tracking features by utilizing open source software including Thomas Boutrell’s gd, Lincoln Stein's GD, Martien Verbruggen's GD::Graph, and Tobias Oetiker’s RRDtool. FlowViewer v4.6 fixes non-UTC local time environments for FlowViewer and FlowGrapher, and $no_devices_or_exporters FlowMonitor_Collector problem. **Note: SiLK must be v3.8.0 or later.
