DualPipe is a bidirectional pipeline parallelism algorithm open-sourced by DeepSeek, introduced in their DeepSeek-V3 technical framework. The main goal of DualPipe is to maximize overlap between computation and communication phases during distributed training, thus reducing idle GPU time (i.e. “pipeline bubbles”) and improving cluster efficiency. Traditional pipeline parallelism methods (e.g. 1F1B or staggered pipelining) leave gaps because forward and backward phases can’t fully overlap with communication. DualPipe addresses that by scheduling micro-batches from both ends of the pipeline in a bidirectional fashion—i.e. some micro-batches flow forward while others flow backward—so that computation on one partition can coincide with communication for another.

The subgraph matching problem (subgraph isomorphism) is NP-complete. We designed a simple exact subgraph matching (ESM) algorithm for dependency graphs using a backtracking approach. The total worst-case algorithm complexity is O(n^2 * k^n) where n is the number of vertices and k is the vertex degree. We have demonstrated the successful usage of our algorithm in three biomedical relation and event extraction applications: BioNLP 2011 shared tasks on event extraction, Protein-Residue association detection and Protein-Protein interaction identification. The Exclusively Dark (ExDARK) dataset is one of the largest curated collections of real-world low-light images designed to support research in computer vision tasks under challenging lighting conditions. It contains 7,363 images captured across ten different low-light scenarios, ranging from extremely dark environments to twilight. Each image is annotated with both image-level labels and object-level bounding boxes for 12 object categories, making it suitable for detection and classification tasks. The dataset was created to address the lack of large-scale low-light datasets available for research in object detection, recognition, and enhancement.
