    BinaryBuilder

    BinaryBuilder

    Binary Dependency Builder for Julia

Binary Dependency Builder for Julia. Building binary packages is a pain. BinaryBuilder follows a philosophy that is similar to that of building Julia itself; when you want something done right, you do it yourself. To that end, BinaryBuilder is designed from the ground up to facilitate the building of packages within an easily reproducible and reliable Linux environment, ensuring that the built libraries and executables are deployable to every platform that Julia itself will run on. Packages are cross-compiled using a sequence of shell commands, packaged up inside tarballs, and hosted online for all to enjoy. Package installation is merely downloading, verifying package integrity and extracting that tarball on the user's computer. No more compiling on user's machines. No more struggling with system package managers. No more needing sudo access to install that little mathematical optimization library.

    CBinding.jl

    CBinding.jl

    Automatic C interfacing for Julia

Use CBinding.jl to automatically create C library bindings with Julia at runtime. In order to support the fully automatic conversion and avoid name collisions, the names of C types or functions are mangled a bit to work in Julia. Therefore everything generated by CBinding.jl can be accessed with the c"..." string macro to indicate that it lives in C-land. As an example, the function func above is available in Julia as c"func". It is possible to store the generated bindings to more user-friendly names (this can sometimes be automated, see the j option). Placing each C declaration in its own macro helps when doing this manually.

    ChainRules.jl

    ChainRules.jl

Forward and reverse mode automatic differentiation primitives

The ChainRules package provides a variety of common utilities that can be used by downstream automatic differentiation (AD) tools to define and execute forward-, reverse--, and mixed-mode primitives. The core logic of ChainRules is implemented in ChainRulesCore.jl. To add ChainRules support to your package, by defining new rules or frules, you only need to depend on the very light-weight package ChainRulesCore.jl. This repository contains ChainRules.jl, which is what people actually use directly. ChainRules reexports all the ChainRulesCore functionality and has all the rules for the Julia standard library.

    FEniCS.jl

    FEniCS.jl

A scientific machine learning (SciML) wrapper for the FEniCS

FEniCS.jl is a wrapper for the FEniCS library for finite element discretizations of PDEs. This wrapper includes three parts. Installation and direct access to FEniCS via a Conda installation. Alternatively one may use their current FEniCS installation. A low-level development API and provides some functionality to make directly dealing with the library a little bit easier, but still requires knowledge of FEniCS itself. Interfaces have been provided for the main functions and their attributes, and instructions to add further ones can be found here. A high-level API for usage with DifferentialEquations. An example can be seen in solving the heat equation with high-order adaptive time-stepping. Various gists/jupyter notebooks have been created to provide a brief overview of the overall functionality and of any differences between the pythonic FEniCS and the Julian wrapper. DifferentialEquations.jl ecosystem. Paraview can also be used to visualize various results just like in FEniCS.

    FFTW.jl

    FFTW.jl

Julia bindings to the FFTW library for fast Fourier transforms

This package provides Julia bindings to the FFTW library for fast Fourier transforms (FFTs), as well as functionality useful for signal processing. These functions were formerly a part of Base Julia. Users with a build of Julia based on Intel's Math Kernel Library (MKL) can use MKL for FFTs by setting a preference in their top-level project by either using the FFTW.set_provider!() method, or by directly setting the preference using Preferences.jl. Note that this choice will be recorded for the current project, and other projects that wish to use MKL for FFTs should also set that same preference. Note further that MKL provides only a subset of the functionality provided by FFTW.

    Fermi.jl

    Fermi.jl

    Fermi quantum chemistry program

Fermi.jl is a quantum chemistry framework written in pure Julia. This code is developed at the Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry at the University of Georgia under the supervision of Dr. Justin M. Turney and Prof. Henry F. Schaefer. This work is supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation under grant number CHE-1661604. Fermi focuses on post Hartree--Fock methods. Currently, only restricted references are supported. This is intended as a research code with an ever growing collection of methods implemented in the package itself. However, the Fermi API is designed to make high performance pilot implementations of methods achievable.

    ForwardDiff.jl

    ForwardDiff.jl

Forward Mode Automatic Differentiation for Julia

ForwardDiff implements methods to take derivatives, gradients, Jacobians, Hessians, and higher-order derivatives of native Julia functions (or any callable object, really) using forward mode automatic differentiation (AD). While performance can vary depending on the functions you evaluate, the algorithms implemented by ForwardDiff generally outperform non-AD algorithms (such as finite-differencing) in both speed and accuracy. Functions like f which map a vector to a scalar are the best case for reverse-mode automatic differentiation, but ForwardDiff may still be a good choice if x is not too large, as it is much simpler. The best case for forward-mode differentiation is a function that maps a scalar to a vector.

    Gridap.jl

    Gridap.jl

Grid-based approximation of partial differential equations in Julia

Gridap provides a set of tools for the grid-based approximation of partial differential equations (PDEs) written in the Julia programming language. The library currently supports linear and nonlinear PDE systems for scalar and vector fields, single and multi-field problems, conforming and nonconforming finite element (FE) discretizations, on structured and unstructured meshes of simplices and n-cubes. It also provides methods for time integration. Gridap is extensible and modular. One can implement new FE spaces, new reference elements, use external mesh generators, linear solvers, post-processing tools, etc. See, e.g., the list of available Gridap plugins.
