The Ray Tracing in One Weekend series of books are now available to the public for free online. They are now released under the CC0 license. This means that they are as close to public domain as we can get. (While that also frees you from the requirement of providing attribution, it would help the overall project if you could point back to this web site as a service to other users.) These books are formatted for printing directly from your browser, where you can also (on most browsers) save them as PDF. In Ray Tracing in One Weekend, you will build a simple brute-force path tracer. Continuing with Ray Tracing: The Next Week, you will add textures, volumes (like fog), rectangles, instances, lights, and support for lots of objects using a bounding volume hierarchy (BVH). Finally, with Ray Tracing: The Rest Of Your Life, we'll dive into the math of creating a very serious ray tracer. -

Simple REST and HTTP API Client for .NET
RestSharp is probably the most popular HTTP client library for .NET. Featuring automatic serialization and deserialization, request and response type detection, variety of authentications and other useful features, it is being used by hundreds of thousands of projects. RestSharp passed over 32 million downloads on NuGet, with average daily download count of 10,000. It's being used by many popular OSS projects, including Roslyn and Swagger. The main purpose of RestSharp is to make synchronous and asynchronous calls to remote resources over HTTP. As the name suggests, the main audience of RestSharp are developers who use REST APIs. However, RestSharp can call any API over HTTP (but not HTTP/2), as long as you have the resource URI and request parameters that you want to send comply with W3C HTTP standards. RestSharp can take care of serializing the request body to JSON or XML and deserialize the response. It can also form a valid request URI based on different parameter kinds. -

JSON logger for Node.js and browser. A transport in most logging libraries is something that runs in-process to perform some operation with the finalized log line. For example, a transport might send the log line to a standard syslog server after processing the log line and reformatting it. Roarr does not support in-process transports because Node processes are single threaded processes (ignoring some technical details). Given this restriction, Roarr purposefully offloads handling of the logs to external processes so that the threading capabilities of the OS can be used (or other CPUs). -

Parsing the XML documents is done by using the lxml library. This is the most performant and compliant Python XML library currently available. This results in major speed benefits when processing large SOAP responses. The SOAP specifications are unfortunately really vague and leave a lot of things open for interpretation. -

autopep8 automatically formats Python code to conform to the PEP 8 style guide. It uses the pycodestyle utility to determine what parts of the code need to be formatted. autopep8 is capable of fixing most of the formatting issues that can be reported by pycodestyle. Correct deprecated or non-idiomatic Python code (via lib2to3). Use this for making Python 2.7 code more compatible with Python 3. Put a blank line between a class docstring and its first method declaration. Remove blank lines between a function declaration and its docstring. -

jsoup is a Java library for working with real-world HTML. It provides a very convenient API for fetching URLs and extracting and manipulating data, using the best of HTML5 DOM methods and CSS selectors. jsoup implements the WHATWG HTML5 specification, and parses HTML to the same DOM as modern browsers do. jsoup is designed to deal with all varieties of HTML found in the wild; from pristine and validating, to invalid tag-soup; jsoup will create a sensible parse tree. The parser will make every attempt to create a clean parse from the HTML you provide, regardless of whether the HTML is well-formed or not. You have HTML in a Java String, and you want to parse that HTML to get at its contents, or to make sure it's well formed, or to modify it. The String may have come from user input, a file, or from the web. -

pseudocode.js is a JavaScript library that typesets pseudocode beautifully to HTML. Pseudocode.js takes a LaTeX-style input that supports the algorithmic constructs from LaTeX's algorithm packages. The HTML output produced by pseudocode.js is (almost) identical to the pretty algorithms printed on publications that are typeset by LaTeX. Inserting math formulas in pseudocode.js is as easy as LaTeX. Just enclose the math expression in $...$ or \(...\). -

Pypandoc provides a thin wrapper for pandoc, a universal document converter. Pypandoc uses pandoc, so it needs an available installation of pandoc. Pypandoc provides 2 packages, "pypandoc" and "pypandoc_binary", with the second one including pandoc out of the box. The 2 packages are identical, with the only difference being that one includes pandoc, while the other don't. If pandoc is already installed (i.e. pandoc is in the PATH), pypandoc uses the version with the higher version number, and if both are the same, the already installed version. Pypandoc is included in conda-forge. The conda packages will also install the pandoc package, so pandoc is available in the installation. -
