eviltransform is a compact library for converting geographic coordinates between the global WGS-84 system (used by GPS) and the Chinese GCJ-02 system (used by many Chinese map services such as Google Maps China and AutoNavi). The project implements forward and inverse transformations (WGS→GCJ and GCJ→WGS) as well as a higher-precision inverse method (GCJ→WGS exact) that trades speed for sub-meter accuracy, and it includes a utility for computing geodesic distance in meters. It’s implemented (or ported) across many languages and platforms — you’ll find reference implementations in Go, C/C++/Obj-C, Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, C#, Haskell, Rust, Swift, MATLAB and more — which makes it easy to drop into server, client, or mobile codebases. The README documents the API signatures and describes expected numeric accuracy (e.g., ~1–2 m for the standard inverse, <0.5 m for the exact inverse) and when to use each routine.

Fielddata Mgr Overview This is a Python program, which means that one must install the open source freely available Python interpreter and a few required also open source, freely available modules that support the functionality of the program. The program "Fielddata Mgr", is customized for the Rick survey department, in such that it supports up to 9 chiefs, each having their own folder in one location, 2 supervisers, each with a PC on the network, and access to a main server. Each day, the .RAW file is copied to the appropriate chiefs folder and when Fielddata Mgr is run, or the reload button is clicked, all .RAW files are listed along with a long list of all job folders existing in a designated location, and a short list of frequently accessed jobs that are selected from within the long list. A java application that shows speed, direction and position in mobile phones that has a built in gps. Primary for use in boat or car, but hiking is fine too. To install just download the newest gpspal_x_x_x.jar file and send it to your phone.

A small server-side application is dedicated to provide TCP-packets response and basic logging functionality from operating low cost commercially available GPS Vehicle Trackers such as Concox GT06N and perhaps others (GT06E and GT06F). GPX2ProfileImage is a Java application that takes gpx files and turns them into elevation profile images. GPX files are created by GPS devices such as the Garmin Edge series bicycle computers, as well as by applications like LoadMyTracks, Ascent.

There are many good programs to manage gpx tracks from my sport activities. My favorite one is gps-prune to view gps tracks on a map and make changes. However, I was missing a simple tool to store summary information about a gpx track into a database to keep track of my training efforts. That's why I created GPXReport. GPXReport is a desktop solution which is written in Java and should run on most computers. The program can read a gpx-file and calculate basics information such as: - overall and moving time - distance (km), - average and max speed - time, km uphill and downhill It automatically classifies the acitvity as hiking, MTB or race bike. Each track information can be added to a Sqlite database. The program can display all information of the database and summarize it by activity.
