JGPSTrackEdit
GPS track editor for editing tracks and planning (multiple) day tours
JGPSTrackEdit is a tool for editing gps tracks and planning (multiple days) tours (GPS track editor). An abritary number of tracks may be opened or created, tracks may be merged. A track may be splitted, reversed or edited (e.g. compressed and corrected). Points may be inserted or appended to a track (routing supported) or may be moved or deleted from a track. Maps of several providers are available, the default map is OpenStreetMap. Currently supported track formats: Garmin gpx route, Garmin gpx track, Garmin tcx, kml and plain txt. JGPSTrackEdit my also be used to download tile images for later offline use by smartphone apps. JGPSTrackEdit is written in the java language. A Matlab software to estimate Euler pole parameters
The EPC software calculates velocities for any points located on the earth’s surface given the Euler pole parameters and estimates the Euler pole parameters given the observed velocities of a set of sites located on a tectonic plate. Since version 2, the software is able to estimate or apply the Plate Translation Rates, as well. A program for cropping GPX track files. The GUI plots the GPX track (latitude vs longitude) and lets the user remove GPS points from the beginning and end of the track respectively. There is also a built-in Command Line Interface. Note: No development anymore since I found out that GpsPrune does all the things I was looking for.

Convert a Garmin ADM database file to a GPX file
User data exported from later model Garmin GPSmap marine GPS sets consists of ADM files written to a VFAT-formatted SD card. This data includes user-generated waypoints and routes, and recorded GPS tracks. adm2gpx converts this data to industry-standard GPX records that may be imported into third-party mapping and GPS software. -

Fielddata Mgr Overview This is a Python program, which means that one must install the open source freely available Python interpreter and a few required also open source, freely available modules that support the functionality of the program. The program "Fielddata Mgr", is customized for the Rick survey department, in such that it supports up to 9 chiefs, each having their own folder in one location, 2 supervisers, each with a PC on the network, and access to a main server. Each day, the .RAW file is copied to the appropriate chiefs folder and when Fielddata Mgr is run, or the reload button is clicked, all .RAW files are listed along with a long list of all job folders existing in a designated location, and a short list of frequently accessed jobs that are selected from within the long list. When a .RAW file is selected, the contents are read, interpreted, and the results displayed within the program window. For remaining information please read the info sht. -

GPXReport
Analyze gpx files and store summary in Sqlite database
There are many good programs to manage gpx tracks from my sport activities. My favorite one is gps-prune to view gps tracks on a map and make changes. However, I was missing a simple tool to store summary information about a gpx track into a database to keep track of my training efforts. That's why I created GPXReport. GPXReport is a desktop solution which is written in Java and should run on most computers. The program can read a gpx-file and calculate basics information such as: - overall and moving time - distance (km), - average and max speed - time, km uphill and downhill It automatically classifies the acitvity as hiking, MTB or race bike. Each track information can be added to a Sqlite database. The program can display all information of the database and summarize it by activity. -

!!! Project servers were closed in the beginning of 2012 because the project was not actual anymore (massivity using Android and iOS devices instead of "simple" mobile phones). But source codes are always available as usual !!! A simple mobile j2me/web application that provides positioning of mobile devices connected to GSM/UMTS network or via GPS and lets you share location info by SMS or email. This project also contains GeoSignature Server j2ee application.
